We'll be seeing some of our nieces and nephews at Thanksgiving and giving them their Christmas gifts then, so I need to get in shopping mode.

Does anyone have fun suggestions for:

* A 5 1/2 year old girl who's Princess-crazy

* A 3 year old boy (I know he loves Power Rangers right now)

* 8 and 10 year old boys, they are both baseball nuts

I'd love to hear what your kids are asking for, as well your own ideas or suggestions.

What's cool and fun this year? :)

Don't ask me! I'll probably get all my girls Bratz dolls and my DS a toy gun. Mom-of-the-year award here I come!! :teeth:

For the princess crazy 5 yr old why not a gift basket with all things princess? Coloring books, crayons, stickers, drinking cup, books, lots of little things all princess themed. Then in the middle a princess doll that she doesn't already have. Or a princess tea set and dress up set.

For the 3 yr old power ranger fan why not something useful but with that theme? A PR bathrobe or clothing. Maybe PR bedding or lunchbox to keep snacks in. Moms always like something that can be useful too.

For the 8 and 10 yr old baseball nuts, why not a certificate to a sporting goods store or to a batting cage?

Good luck!!

DS4 is getting a Lands End Bean Bag Chair embroidered with his name, more Thomas Train tracks, a toy rain stick (plastic tube filled with colored beads that sounds like rain when you tilt it side to side), and a box of Creatrix (mix-n-match animal pieces that snap together to make different animals).

DD1.5 is getting a Lands End Bean Bag Chair embroidered with her name, a Cabbage Patch Doll, a toy Cookie Monster, and a toy purse.

Suggestion for you:

Do your older nephews like to play computer games? My DH and son have been having a blast playing Hot Wheels Stunt Track Driver and Stunt Track Driver II. The cars and tracks are to the same scale as regular Hot Wheels toys -- you can crash your car into a cat's tail on one track, for instance. Also, you can earn new cars and new tracks by doing well which is great incentive to work hard at the game.

My niece and nephews who live here get too much stuff as it is. I bought my niece (1) a Little Mommy Doll, and my nephews (7 and 4) are getting toy trucks with trailers and motorcycles plus $5 spending money.

I also have two nieces who live 3000 miles away and also get too much stuff at the holidays. For them, I sent tins from The Popcorn Factory. Each tin has a small snowman toy, some candy and some cookies. This is a picture: http://ww2.1800flowers.com/product....=s_collection&fc_track1=&cur_index=3&channel=

Have you asked the parents if there is anything specific that the kids want? For those family members who ask, I am always able to give great ideas and the kids seem to appreciate it when they get stuff they REALLY want.

Good Luck!

Not sure about the other kids, but for the 5 1/2 year old girl.
How about a Princesses dress up trunk. It includes different princess costumes, tiaras, slippers, wands..... I know that Toys R Us, carries a bunch of different Disney princess items.

I was going to suggest the dress-up trunk for the 5YO and also what about power ranger outfits for the 3YO. I know my kids always loved those!

what about magazines for the 8 and 10 year old? Sports Ill. for kids, disney adventures.

I am not sure how my you wanted to spend, but Ipods are huge for the 8 and 10 too.

The baseball nuts in our house (9,13, and 39) LOVE LOVE LOVE playing this game:

Play TV Baseball 3

~For her get her a disney barbie!!

* A 3 year old boy (I know he loves Power Rangers right now)

What about that leap frog reading thing?

* 8 and 10 year old boys, they are both baseball nuts

Dont know.

Boo'sMom- that TV baseball game looks awesome! I'm definitely ordering that!

And these boys live in a very cold and snowy place, so it would be a good way to let them play sports games indoors during the winter. Excellent suggestion!!! :sunny:

I don't know what to tell you to get kids those ages, but I can tell you that the 33 year old DIS board moderator you will be seeing the week after Thanksgiving would love Disney dollars to spend at Disney World.

My DD5 soon to be 6 is also princess crazy. Instead of the costumes, I gave her a Goodwill gift certificate for $50 along with a "girls night out" invite. We went to Goodwill and she was able to go crazy buying dress-up clothes. For $50 we got a total of 9 costumes. She is to young to care about them being second hand. One of the dresses is going to the dry cleaners next week to go on the cruise with us. A pair of Minnie ears and she is set.

We topped of the night going out to eat together. She got to choose between 3 places; Olive Garden, AppleeBees or a local mexican restraraunt. She still talks about the gift, and it was months ago.
