Does anyone have any easy craft ideas for kids? I babysit and they LOVE crafts. I hate foam crafts though. THey are always so difficult to stick even with foam glue and the kids get so frustrated.

One I will be making is a snowman. Use a small clay pot topped with a styrofoam ball. Use black beads for eyes and mouth. For a carrot nose paint and cut a toothpick. Instead of a hat use a chenelle stem from side to side and where it attaches put a red pom pom. That makes ear muffs. Around the lip of the pot glue ribbon to make it a scarf.

Any other ideas?

Here in Canada I used to do Sparks, the first division of Girl Guides here. A few years ago we gave these to the mom's for Christmas gifts. They were soaps wrapped in fabric tied with ribbon with a little tag. The Moms could use them in their drawers to keep everything smelling pretty, or an unused suitcase to keep it fresh, or out on display.

Also we bought up a bunch of cheap ceramic tiles, gem stones, or glass flat stones(The kind you buy a whole bunch in a mesh bag at the dollar store) and your fav photo of your child, and glitter glue. We glued the gem stones around the edge to frame it like a picture frame, leaving enough room in between each stone to put some glitter glue for accents. Then glued the picture in the middle. Let them dry for a good 24 hours if using regular craft glue for the stones, we used hot glue guns. Then we bought plate stands to fit the tiles so they held the tile up like an easel.

You could also take a bunch of pics of the kids, get doubles. Cut around their faces. Get small paper plates, have the kids cut out the centers. decorate the rim with paint, glitter, colour them, raw pasta, and then insert pics of them in between here and there, and you have a photo wreath that any Mom , Grandma, etc, would love. You could put a whole in the top with yarn, and hang it on the tree, for your little artist to see. Good luck, I'll think up some more, once I've had some sleep, as you can see my the time! :rolleyes1 :surfweb:

LOVE THIS IDEA!!! I think I might have to steal this for DS5 Christmas Party!

We used leftover tiles from the kitchen backsplash to make trivets. I bought paint for ceramic at Michaels and used little ponge stampers to put Christmas designs on them in red, green and gold. There was also something I had to paint on the tiles first to prep them and a sealer of some kind. We glued felt to the back.

If you get some of the hollow glass ornaments, you can drizzle acrylic paint in them and roll them around so the paint covers the inside.

DS also made Christmas trees and wreaths out of handprints in preschool.
