I'm doing a Craft Fair where I work and usually have some munchies like, chocolate covered pretzels, marshmallows and rice krispies. Does anyone out there every done other items than above that's easy? The fair is Nov. 8 so I have to start this weekend.

Any helpful hints would be appreciated.

Thanks to all and have a "Magical Day "

We especially like dried apricots dipped in chocolate...white, milk, dark - doesn't matter. ;) I've also done nuts - either singles like large cashews, or clusters like almonds & peanuts.

One of my favorites is to crush candy canes (the mint ones) and spread thinly on foil. That's really good in white & dark chocolate. Sometimes I've dipped the candy canes themselves, but I prefer the crushed "bark" kind myself.

What about cookies? Like Oreos and Lady fingers - again all 3 types of chocolate.

The years we've done chocolates we just go nuts with it!! Anything not tied down ends up getting dipped. :rotfl2:
raisins
dried cherries
Chex or Crispix cereals
potato chips (Pringles are easiest because they're thicker)
gummy worms

Yes, we love our chocolate!! :teeth:

fortune cookies! yum...

My mom makes us chocolate dipped sugar and peanut butter wafers yum!

I make chocolate covered oreos usually a few times a year. yumo

I picked up a bag of chocolate marshmellos that had a recipe of sorts on the back. Dip the marshmello in chocolate then dip it in sprinkles/jimmies. Sounds yummy and the chocolate flavored marshmellos are really good.

you know what else is good????? but it's after your fair, but white chocolate dipped nutter butter cookies and mini choc chips for the eyes and they look like ghosts and are so adorable!

i usually make a batch of those around this time of year and forgot all about it until i started reading this thread.

and piratesmate, we are with you, anything not tied down gets dipped in chocolate. i do the chocolate thing every year for xmas and it's usually an all day affair. 12+ hours of dipping things in chocolate. i love chocolate covered anything!!!!!!

My Mom and I used to do chocolate dipped spoons (plastic) and used them in coffee. You can use all 3 kinds of chocolate, have plain ones, some with white chocolate drizzles and even put some rum extract in the chocolate then dip the spoons... then wrap them up in clear plastic and tie with a bow... cute! They are perfect party favors!!!

Chocolate dipped potato chips are awesome. Especially the ones with ridges (it allows for more chocolate on them) and iwth dark chocolate.

Another favorite in our house is white-chocolate coated popcorn,

here's the recipe we use for white chocolate popcorn:
White Chocolate Popcorn

2 bags of microwave popcorn - popped
1 bag of white choc chips
1-2 cups pretzels - broken
3 cups nuts - I use mixed nuts or cashews but could use your preference

I put the choc chips in a oven-proof bowl at 250 degrees
to melt. Put the popcorn, pretzels and nuts in a large
bowl and pour over chocolate and stir. Mix thoroughly.
Spread the popcorn on wax paper to "dry". If I add m&m's I
just sprinke over the mixture as soon as I spread in on
the wax paper. When dry - place in bags or a covered container.

OhMom (Molli - my DD) and I just saw choc covered pretzel rods with a variation. There were 2 "together" - guess for the heartier treat:love: .I am guessing rods were "glued with caramel and then dipped and then caramel and nuts sprinkled. Sold for $3.50.

I have another great "easy" choc candy - must not have that recipe on this computer will look it up and post later.

Good luck!

chocolate popcorn is yummy. Pretzles, both rods and twists. How about fruit like berries, apples, and babanas.

Wow guys thanks alot for your helpful hints. Going to try the oreos first.

Blizzard Party Mix
Ingredients:
•2 cups oven-toasted cereal squares
•2 cups small pretzel twists
•1 cup dry-roasted peanuts
•1 cup (about 20) coarsely chopped caramels
•2 cups (12-ounce package) NESTLÉ TOLL HOUSE Premier White Morsels

Directions:
SPRAY 13 x 9-inch baking pan with nonstick cooking spray.

COMBINE cereal, pretzels, peanuts and caramels in large bowl.

MICROWAVE morsels in medium, uncovered microwave-safe bowl on MEDIUM-HIGH (70%) power for 1 minute; STIR. Morsels may retain some of their original shape. If necessary, microwave at additional 10- to 15-second intervals, stirring until smooth. Pour over cereal mixture; stir to coat evenly.

SPREAD mixture into prepared baking pan; let stand for 20 to 30 minutes or until firm. Break into bite-size pieces.

Still thinking - I may be back :thumbsup2
