Looking for an Old Store

I went to Disney World about three years ago, and in the Magic Kingdom they had a store that you could go and get rough sketches of Disney characters, then I heard a rumor they moved it to MGM, does anybody know the Location within MGM or if it is even still there?

I am pretty sure it is called the Art of Disney. They have one at DTD also that I know you can buy the sketches at.

You can get them in store at the Castle and also in Epcot

I have not seen a store in the castle for many years. There used to be one that sold family crests in the castle, but because of the forcourt show, the shop is no longer there, there is a store in UK in the World Showcase that sells the family crests. But I don't think the poster is talking about family crests.

I came across a Disney animator with a table set up where he was filling in rough sketches. It was located in the Photo Store near the waiting area for Tony's Town Square Restaurant. I was fortunate enough to get one of these sketches which the animator signed. Guess what? It was FREE! I have not seen anything like this since. This was about 15 years ago. Is this what you are refering to? So, if anyone knows if they are doing this again, I'd really like to know!

There is a store in the castle. It sells art items. I don't recall seeing sketches sold there, but I wasn't looking for those either.

I have one of these, too. My sketch is of Figaro and I got it in 1987, I think.

There is a store in the castle. I was just there 2 months ago. And yes, they sold sketches.

I apologize, I didn't say there wasn't a store, I simply said I haven't seen one in a long time. I haven't been to WDW since summer 2005. This store must be relatively new.

It's not new. It is on the left hand side when you are facing Fantasyland. They sell art glass, swords, prints, and jewelry. You can get into the castle from the Fantasyland side so the store is not closed because of the forecourt shows.

There's also a store in MGM that sells the rough sketches. It's the christmas store that's on the "road" for Tower of Terror. It's on the right hand side. They have the sketches over by the cash registers. HTH!
