Looking for alternatives to Albany, NY airport

This is probably a longer drive than you're looking for, but Southwest flies non-stop from Providence. I think it's around a three hour drive.

(i will admit to not having read beyond the first half dozen posts, so feel free to ignore if this has been suggested already)

if westchester has the best flight deals, but parking is the deal-breaker, consider finding a "park/sleep/fly" hotel near westchester... even if you don't "sleep" the cost of one night of lodging may be considerably less than ten days of parking at the airport... it's definitely worth a look-see... we had great luck with this when flying out of pittsburgh a few years back...

I dont know the specific rates but the Springhill suites and Fairfield Inn in Windsor Locks Conneticut are right near the hartford airport and do sleep/park/fly.

Those are also very good hotels to stay at if you want to do an overnight trip to Six Flags New England which is like 20 minutes away.

JetBlue is now taking reservations through 10/29. Flights out of Hartford are much better than ALB on Southwest (which is still only booking through 9/30 though and start at $348 round trip).

If the flight prices hold to the Nov dates (now $234 per person) I want, it appears I could even save by flying friday evening (a day early = $210 per person). Instead of staying at an airport hotel in Hartford we'll just stay at Disney instead on friday night and be up & out early!

For 6 of us we save $150 on flight & lets say $80 or so on a hotel = $230. Right now with no discounts I could get a family suite at All-Star Music for $266 total (and then we would transfer to our DVC at AKV sometime saturday).

Thanks for the advice to watch Hartford! Now I need to wait for Nov fares to open up - hopefully they are just as good.
