Hi all! After going 1-2 times a year we took a break. Finally going to Disneyland in April for the first time in almost 5 years and could use some advice. So much has changed.

1) We are staying at DLH. It looks like they do Magic Mornings Tues,Thurs, Saturday at DL but nothing on the DCA calendar. Do they only do it at DL now? Trying to make our reservations and want to be sure to start where we can get in early.
2) Does anyone have any idea what park they do the Choir Competitions in (or where to find out - google is not helping)? We are going to see my daughters school sing and her teacher doesn't know. I have a feeling it is DL since DCA will still have Food & Wine Festival going on but I want to be sure we plan accordingly.
3) Star Wars Land. It will be our first time. What do I need to know? Reservations before hand? My family will definitely want to ride all the rides.

I am sure I will think of other things but that's all for now.

Thank you!!

The same reservation that gets you into the park gets you into Galaxy's Edge. Oga's takes reservations, but I've also had people get in as walk-ins/off the wait-list. I found the drinks were much better than the food at Docking Bay 7, but I think they have changed the menu since my visit, so the food may have improved. Rise of the Resistance has a stand-by line and a paid ILL Line. Smuggler's Run has a stand-by line and is included with Genie+.

if you are seeing magic mornings on the calendar you better share where! Unfortunately magic mornings haven't been back since covid.

Re #2 BFF's DD was in school choir and did two of the choir trips. I don't know if there are different companies that sponsor them and if there are, if the schedules differ. But the competitions themselves were at Cal State Fullerton. There was an awards ceremony in the Fantasyland Theatre in DL on the last night.

The choir kids had two afternoons/nights at DL.

We're headed to DLR in September and we are in the same boat as you - used to go a lot, but haven't been in 5 years. I found a good article reviewing Star Wars Galaxy's Edge here: https://mickeyvisit.com/star-wars-land-guide/. After reading it, I am afraid my boys are going to want to spend half our time on Batuu. It's definitely going to be hard to not follow the crowds there first thing in the morning.

Thanks for the info. I don't think it is going to be elsewhere (but I could be wrong). Its an all day trip. They are leaving on a Friday morning, performing and spending the rest of the day in the parks and then leaving that night to head home. My daughter will simply not go home with them and stay with us to spend the weekend.

I am wrong - on the calendar it has "Magic Mornings" listed and if you click on that it says that they are Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday but there is no actual time listed on the calendar.

My boys could spend all day in Batuu playing with the play disney parks app. FWIW, I greatly prefer it in the evening, if that helps you stay away in the morning. ;)

Yes, that sounds very different than my BFF's choir trips. There were 5 day competitions with multiple schools from all over (hers travelled 400 mi) and then the awards ceremony at DL.

And BFF & her DD didn't have the option to stay behind when things were over. We'd tried to finagle it but her school said 'Nope. You have to stay with the school group from start to finish'. I had driven down on my own and stayed with family, but we had hoped we could stay a few extra days 'onsite' if she & DD could 'break away'.
