Okay, so I have all my ADRs done for my upcoming trip in August. My only problem is that I am on the dining plan and entitled to 10 table service credits on a 10 night stay but I have 11 credits actually booked. I am trying to decide which reservation to cancel but I have had no luck making up my mind. Alternatively, I could keep them all and pay for one out of pocket.

Here are my ADRs:
Ohanas for supper on the 20th
Tusker House for breakfast on the 21st (characters!)
Flying Fish for supper on the 22nd
Raglan Road for supper on the 23rd (entertainment!)
50s Prime Time Cafe for lunch on the 24th
Brown Derby for supper on the 25th (Fantasmic!)
Boma for supper on the 26th
Rose and Crown for lunch on the 27th
Liberty Tree Tavern for supper on the 28th

What do you think?
If I do keep them all, which one would you pay out of pocket?

Lunch is usually cheaper than dinner.

It can be made less expensive still if 1 or more in the party drink water rather than ordering a beverage. And even less if you might split a dessert (or split an entree and each order your own dessert - hey, live it up!). Or if one party member would really prefer an appetizer plus a dessert instead of an entree; you can do this when paying out of pocket but not on the DP.

So pull the 50s PT and R&C menus. At each, figure what the entire party would order if you were paying OOP. See which one is cheaper. Then make sure that the breakfast at Tusker would not be cheaper still (unlikely, since it's a buffet and those tend to be higher).

Anyhow, pay the least expensive one OOP. I would not cancel the ADRs. You've got a nice array of dining options chosen, and you picked them because they appealed to you and your group. You said you are staying 10 nights but you only have 9 dates listed, but since 2 of them are Signatures they cost 2 TS each which is how you got to 11.

I totally agree with everything the PP said. You have a great list of choices. Wouldn't change or cancel a thing. Pay OOP for the least expensive lunch. That's what I had to do for our next visit. Have a great time and bon appetit!!pixiedust::wave:

If you can afford it, I would keep what you have and pay for one out of pocket. I am a firm believer that if you book something, there is a reason. If you end up canceling something you may regret it.

With that being said, there are a few options as to what to pay for OOP. 50's lunch or the R&C lunch will probably be your least expensive meals, depending on what you order (to get an idea, check out the menus on allears.net, take a guess at what your party will order and compair the total costs). Donald's Breakfast Safari at TH will also be relatively low cost to pay OOP. You could also pay for either the F! dinner package or FF OOP and add a dinner on the 21st or another character breakfast.

On the 1TS, 1CS and 1 snack credit meal plan, we don't find that using 2 credits on any meal has much value. A full signature meal (app, entree, dessert, glass of wine) will run you about $60-$70 for an adult. If you figure that each TS credit is worth about $30-$35 each, you would be spending about the same amount of money paying OOP then with TS credits, however, using the TS credits at FF you would have to pay for any appitizers or alcoholic beverages OOP. Of course, this is just one man's opinion. :thumbsup2

This will be our 4th trip in 4 years so we thought we might change things up a bit by doing a couple of Signature dining options....this will be a first for us:woohoo:. Usually we have a show or two booked but we have done them all at least once so we are not going this route this time around. With the four of us, to pay OOP for a signature choice would not be affordable:eek: and we do have the free dining locked in so I don't feel as cheated by not getting the most value for our dining plan.:thumbsup2

Thanks everyone for your opinions and I think that I may pay OOP for one of the lunch choices as several of you suggested. I'll check out allears.net and go from there. Thanks again!:flower3:

I did Raglan Rd last year and really enjoyed it so I am reluctant to part with this one especially since last year we missed the entertainment they offer. Hopefully this year I have dinner booked late enough to enjoy the show (6:30 p.m.)

Without reading everyone elses responces - I say pay for Rose and Crown OOP. You don't have to get app, entree, and dessert - Skip one and make it a bit cheaper. Good luck deciding and have a great trip!!!!

We are in the same position, have 6 Ts credits & needing 7. We will be paying OOP for 50's Prime Time as it is the cheapest of my choices for dinner. We will be going to Le Cellier for our first time, but are going to eat lunch there. We are going signature at the Yachtsman, so that is why not enough Ts credits. I checked the menus & it made sense for us to goOOP for 50's Prime Time.

I would KEEP both Raglan Road & Rose/Crown. They're both very good!! I think you have fantastic dining choices. Look at the allears.net menu (or on this site) to see the prices, this will help you decide which one to pay for OOP.

We did this on our last trip. (book too many ADR's). We chose to pay OOP for the cheapest one. I don't regret our decision at all. Enjoy all of them!

i agree that you have good choices... pay oop for one. this is where we run into trouble with the DDP--so we always do DxDDP!!
