We are traveling Dec4-11 to Orlando. I am looking for a 2 bedroom place with a kitchen(near Disney). The only places i have found are at least $2000 for the week!
Does anyone have any tips/ideas/suggestions or experiences they can share with a fellow Disney mom?
Thank you

Not sure where you are looking, but you can get a timeshare here http://www.resortcerts.com/ for $499 a week. Look for Orbit One timeshares. They have 2 bedroom condos. It is very close to disney. I have stayed there twice and will again in January. And if you look on skyauction, you can sometimes get the certificates for around $300. Here's the link for the certificates on skyauction http://www.skyauction.com/action/offer/1847949.
I use skyauction a lot.

Check out WorldQuest Resort....two bedroom around $140.00 per night. Full Kitchen with washer and dryer 4 star resort. Only 5 min from Disney:thumbsup2

We had looked at Royale Parc Suites, which is a Quality Suites hotel, before we decided to rent a vacation home. The reviews were relatively good as well.

I was about to suggest this place! I stayed there last Feb with my fiancee for about 7 days. It's a really nice place. The kitchen is more a kitchenette, the stove only has 2 burners, a handful of pots & plates, a small fridge, and a microwave. I was really happy with the place. We wanted a small kitchen in case we wanted to cook anything or heat anything up. Unfortunately we didn't cook but we did use the fridge & microwave. So OP, it really depends on how much cooking you think you will be doing. Like I said, it is a small kitchen but the rooms are really big and the place is secure. Plus you're not too far from Disney. I'd say check out their website and at least sign up for their emails, the email me from time to time with deals.

There are tons of places to stay for less than $1,000 a week! We have rented private pool homes 4 times, the first three times were through Alexander Holiday Homes http://floridasunshine.com/ . The last time we went we booked through a private owner directly. You can get nice condos really cheap :). Where have you been looking?

if your looking for a hotel we have stayed at the Mariott Residence Inn near Seaworld it has a kitchenette and free breakfast is included:thumbsup2

we are going the same time that you are and booked our stay with Windsor Hills. Am pretty sure we paid only 63.00 per night and it is a 2-bedroom condo.

I just rent houses from onlinefloridavillas.com.

Have you checked out Sheraton Vistana? They have 2 bedroom villas available for $167/night which is a fantastic price. My family stayed there twice (1993, 1994) when I was in elementary school and we had a great time. It's been 16 years since my last stay there but it's always in the back of mind when I'm planning a trip to The World. I also understand that it recently went under renovation so it's definitely worth looking into!

Wyndham Bonnet Creek has full kitchens and won't cost you more than $700 a week. Located next door to the Caribbean Beach Resort, so you are in the middle of Disney. Check the "we loooooove Bonnet Creek" thread.

Everyone has already posted my favorites. If you are looking outside of the park; Sheraton Vistana, Wyndham Bonnet Creek, Windsor Hills. Just look on expedia or orbitz and you will get a ton of choices. You can also look on tripadvisor and get reviews as well. Very easy to come in under $1500 never mind $2000. As you can see, most posters even came in under $1,000.

something to keep in mind is that most 2bdrm w/ Kitchen condos in the area are timeshares. Because of this, it is often MUCH CHEAPER to rent at them from owners at the timeshares than it is to rent directly from the location like a hotel.

Perfect example: Wyndham Bonnett Creek.

From their website at https://www.wyndhambonnetcreek.com/index.cfm

For a week in December: $1503 or about $214/nt

From Ken @ http://www.vacationupgrades.com (Highly recommended in the Bonnett Creek thread here)

For the Week you are looking at in December: $840 or $120/nt
although he has often been able to get people in at around $100/nt from reports here at the DIS.

Staybridge Suites, LBV. They are right at the entrance to DTD, so very close to Disney World. You get two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen. Plus a free continental breakfast. All for $140 a night.:thumbsup2

we only paid in the low 60's for a beautiful 2-bedroom condo at Windsor Hills. it is not far at all from Disney.
