Looking for a Tizzy replacement that does better w. night shots

I love my Tizzy, love the zoom lens and compactness, but the trade off is less then great night shots. can anyone recommend...

1. a compact
2. w a good zoom lens
3. that can handle nights shots?
4. manual control of shutter speed or aperture

Unfortunately, some of you desires contradict each other. Compacts usually do not have much zoom b/c it is just not physically possible to do and still have a quality lens. Compacts are generally not the best at low light shots. Also, many do not have manual controls. You will find something that you will be more happy with if you can give up the compactness.
