My daughter is eight years old and a member of our local YMCA swim team, aptly named the Dolphins.

I'd LOVE to surprise her with a "swim with a dolphin" experience. We're going out to Titusville/Cocoa Beach area after our WDW trip in June.

Does anyone have any recommendations for us? Thank you!!

Discovery Cove is worth the trip ;) There is so much more to do than the dolphin experience. If she likes to snorkel, she can snorkel the reef and then they have the new fresh water oasis (can't wait to try it out this year) and the bird avairy is very neat with some huge birds that will eat out of a cup.

Check it out, could be an option before you head to Cocoa Beach area.

Another vote for Discovery Cove. The dolphin swim is great fun, PLUS you get a full day of other amazing activities. There's an onsite aviary, snorkelling in the Grand Reef, otters and marmosets in the Freshwater Oasis, and the most wonderful lazy river ever.

Your admission includes all activities, all food and snacks, all drinks (including alcohol), parking, and even sunscreen. You also get a free 6 x 8 family photo, and 14 days admission to both Aquatica and SeaWorld.

The dolphin swim includes the chance to pet and pose for formal pics:

Its an awesome park. Highly recommend :thumbsup2 .

Okay, so that looks AMAZING!! But I can't afford $1000 for three of us to go for one day (unless I'm missing something here). If we had more time to add to our vacation, the free admission to Sea World definitely sweetens the pot, but we only added two days at the end of our WDW week...

Hoping there are some other experiences that might be more budget friendly.

Thanks!

Yes, Discovery Cove is expensive. And I don´t think they have a good Dolphin Experience. It is more of a show with a little interaction.

I would look for a "trainer for a day" kind of experience.

The fact that the OP's daughter is only 8 is going to be problematic for that kind of experience. Most have minimum age requirements that are older than 8.

If you are looking for a real Dolphin experience then Discovery Cove is your only choice. You can feed the Dolphins at Sea World for a few bucks in the mornings. But if you want to get in the water with them DC is where you will have to do it.

Use to you could get it way cheaper if you had a Sea World Season pass but the admission did not include admissions to any other parks when you bought using the passmember discount.
