Can anyone tell me if a security camera exists that fits these needs for my 95-yr-old, recently widowed, mother? She is completely capable of living alone in her own home but we would like for her to be able to see who is at her front door and/or in her driveway. Neither her front door or garage door have "peep holes" and she doesn't want to drill holes in them to add them. We need 1-2 cameras but with these specifications:

-no wires or plug-ins (needs to be battery operated)
-wireless viewing on her iPad or accompanying/compatible tablet
-no monthly fees or contract
-magnetic or clip attachment
-does not need to have speaker capability or allow for 2-way communications (she would never use it)
-(optional) something that I can access remotely (20 miles away) if needed

One of the cameras could possible be wired as there is an electric plug-in close by but that would also be an easy target for crime... to just unplug the very visible camera cord. Also, we don't want the contract or monthly fees that come with a ring doorbell. She lives in a very safe neighborhood but wants to see who is on her property before answering the door.

Any suggestions?

We use Blink cameras at home. You need to have a hub that is plugged in and connected to WiFi inside the house, but the cameras themselves are rechargeable batteries and no wires or anything. We purchased solar panels to that keep the batteries full and haven’t had to deal with charging them or anything in years.

We don’t pay a monthly subscription and my husband and I both have the app and access to the cameras.

We also have Arlo cameras and hub and they work the same as the Blink. No fees, multiple accounts able to access the app.

I’m not sure how the cameras are mounted across both platforms, but I do think they might have been drilled/screwed in. You might have to be creative with mounting if you can’t drill.

We use the ring doorbell camera on front. It is hardwired into the doorbell. Simple to do. We also have a ring floodlight camera on side of house which replace a standard light so it is hardwired. Think we pay like $30 year to have video storage but its not required. Have been very happy with them. They do have battery versions Here is what we have.

We've handled all the points you're listing for your mother with a simple Ring doorbell/video camera at the front door. No electrical connect, all wireless, inexpensive, can view on our phone/iPad/TV, an inexpensive annual fee to store video, and only requires a battery recharge every couple months. I'm sure there are other brands around that work similarly.

BLINK and we've had them about 5 years, at two houses. No subscription, access from anywhere, excellent camera quality. We have a RING doorbell but the photo quality is so poor that we only have it set as a doorbell. It won't show anything beyond our front step while BLINK shows me all the way out in the street.

Main house we have over front door, over back door, on side where my deer eat and far out in the backyard so I can watch the wildlife come through. Great quality. LOVE THEM!

Other house have facing north and south to watch storms approach. They are only on when we remotely turn them on to watch. Since inside windows we bought indoor version and that was a mistake, they have a light so at night no photos turn out. Need to swap them for outdoor cameras.

Both come to my phone in same account. HUGE bang for our buck. And anyone in the family who wants to log in can watch them as well.
