Looking for a "ride buddy"

My wife and I have a couple trips planned this year to WDW. She doesn't do a lot of the rides because she has some back and neck problems. Have been there a couple times this past year but have found it is no fun riding by myself. Was wondering if there is someone else out there that might be in the same boat and may also be looking for a "ride buddy" now and then. Could be someone doing solo, have a significant other who does not like to ride, or even a parent who does not want to ride but has a child who does want to ride. Talking about rides like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Splash, Space Mountain, Tower of Terror, Test Track, etc. I'm a "25 year old mind" that is trapped in a 65 year old body! First trip, we arrive late on Sep 3 and leave on Sep 16; next trip is a late arrival on Nov 12 and depart on Nov 20. Our touring style is very flexible, generally, we plan where we will be by going to the bus stop and taking the first bus that arrives! So, nothing is set in stone for us as to touring plans. Rain doesn't bother us, we live in the Arizona Desert, avg annual rainfall is 3 inches, so rain in Florida is a "bonus attraction" for us!

Sorry I can't help you, except to offer to keep your wife company because I have back issues also, so I skip all those rides except Test Track. Bumping this up, though.

Maybe, it would be easier to find a riding companion once you are at the ride. Sometimes, it's obvious there are other solo riders that may join up right then and there. Without planning ahead of time it could be difficult to meet up with someone else.

Another thought would be to have fun without the rides. There are a lot of shows and street entertainment to enjoy. The parades and fireworks are fun, too. Take a Disney tour with your wife. Get a different perspective of the park and enjoy it more with your wife. Do the movies at World Showcase. Do the Imagineer luncheon one day. Go on the rides your wife can enjoy and do them more than once.

Try to do solo rides when the rides aren't busy like with extra magic hours at the parks. Being solo for 15 minutes is different from 45 minutes. Hopefully, that will make it more fun.

do the single only lines - at test track. think there is one at one of the rr - but don't remember which.

the mk doesn't have any single lines. so it is not there.

anyway when you are in line and like the way the person acts - you can ask him or her to go on other rides with you - definitely take them out to meet your wife - so they know this is not a pick-up.

you will not ride the test track w/them = so you will need to wait when the ride is over.

I am about the same age (60), and am going solo. Although one of the bennies of going solo is going where ever I want to go when ever, it would be kinda cool to hang with you and your wife for a bit and be a ride buddy. Just PM me and we can find a day to hook up.

DHS - Rock n Roller
AK - Everest
