I dont want to bring my dlsr to disney..somewhat simple to use for hubby..fast shutter speed (always seem to miss a good shot!),powerful zoom, awesome photos in low lighting..
Think that is most of what I need!

It really depends on the type of camera you want. Do you want a bridge camera (looks a lot like a DSLr with a fixed zoom lense). Or a more compact travel zoom?
For low light, it's really impossible to get close to a DSLr because the sensor is so much larger on the DSLr. It's like comparing a disc or 110 film camera to a 35mm.

It is likely that the Sony HX20 compact or HX200 bridge camera would give the hubby the best results straight from the camera. Sony has a nice hand held twilight scene that produces some nice low light pics by combining several shots.

If you like to post-process your pictures then you may prefer the final results from a Panasonic.

If you are willing to give up some zoom then there ate several cameras with slightly larger sensors like the Canon S100.

Then another step between is the mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras like the Nikon 1, but still smaller than a DSlr

Ok, then I would start researching the Panasonic ZS20 and the Sony HX20v and 30v and go to a store to seek how they feel/operate.

While the Canon 260hs is another high quality choice, many reviews say its autofocus speed is much slower than the Panasonic or Sony, especially in lower light (And I think that is what you meant by slow shutter)
