Going to Disney in October w/ hubby and our two girls, ages 9 and almost 7, first time trip. Looking for a bag to carry in the park. Normally for Hershey Park or other vacation trips I do either my black Jansport Trans backpack, or Overland Donner crossbody. But the Donner strap hurts my shoulder when carrying for awhile (especially with water bottles in it), and the I don't like that the backpack doesn't have water bottle pockets on the outside. I've looked through a ton of threads here and see lots of recommendations for the Baggallini Messenger Sling bag/backpack. DH said he would help carry it if I get it in a neutral color (he said preferably black, though I was leaning towards Khaki or gray so its a lighter colored bag and not so hot). I've never used a one strap sling backpack before, so not sure if I'll like it, but I like that reviews said it can just be swung forward when riding rides, rather than having to take it off like a traditional backpack. So my Q is, will it comfortably hold the following:

1 or 2 bottles of water
rain ponchos (if needed)
my large sunglasses case
iphone
tissues
sunscreen
pack of Wet Ones hand sanitizing wipes
small first aide kit (in a small cosmetic bag)
snacks like small bags of nuts, granola bars, etc.
Possibly 2 autograph/photo books for the girls (unless I make them carry their own)
small hairbrush and ponytail holders
chapstick
park map and touring plans for the day

I think that's all I'll need daily. Only other thing I can think of is light sweatshirts for the girls and myself if it is cooler on certain days.

Easily. Not the sweatshirts, though.

Although I'd personally recommend a portable charger for the iPhone. With that, you could dump the park map and touring plans, since they can be on the iPhone! :D

Recs for a portable charger? I have an iphone 4S and DH's is a 4.

There are a couple threads about it, and several good brands. I have a couple of Ankers. Look on Amazon and read the reviews. Try to find a good balance between power and size -- strong enough to provide the power you need but small enough that you are willing to carry it, in a pocket or bag.

They are a lifesaver for me -- I bring bands and choirs, so often arrive in the parks after an overnight bus trip, having used my phone all night. I used to have to find outlets, which meant sitting still for a while!
