DD promised, if we manage to actually get down there this year, she'll get up in time for a breakfast buffet - BUT NO CHARACTERS!!!. The only option I've found so far is Boma. Any others? We'll be on Free DDP but this meal will be OOP.

For good adult non-character breakfast, the only non buffet is Boma.

Other ideas would be:

Whispering Canyon Cafe
Kona Cafe
Grand Floridian Cafe
The Wave

I believe that Boma and Captain's Grille are the only non-character buffets for breakfast, but at Whispering Caynon Cafe you can order an all you can eat skillet, which is placed in a lazy susan and is very delicious! Here are some other places to get breakfast, but they are not buffets: Spoodles, The Wave, Grand Floridian Cafe, Kona Cafe, and Artist's Palette. I'll post more if I think of anything else.

Maya Grill at Coronado Springs also has a breakfast buffet, if I remember correctly.

Trails End at Fort Wilderness is very good and not as expensive as others.

What type of transportation will you use to get to your breakfast? You mentioned early, so will you go directly from your resort to the breakfast?

Boma is the best non-character meal on property - their breakfast buffet is wonderful.

I've heard good things about Fresh at the Swolphin but haven't tried it yet.

For those of you that recommended Fresh for breakfast, do I need to make ressies? and does this count as a single table service credit on DDP?

I don't know about reservations but Fresh is not on the Dining Plan - they are not a Disney owned restaurant. If you're a DVC member you can get a 20% discount on the price of your meal there.

Oh, that's good to know. I was going to recommend Fresh because we liked the buffet there a lot. We'll be staying partially at the Dolphin so the discounts will be helpful. :thumbsup2

We've (read I!) chosen Boma. I wanted to have dinner there to check out the AKL for a future trip but DD wants Yak & Yeti (again!). So this gives me the perfect opportunity to go. Now if I can only drag her out of bed in time to bus to AK and then on to AKL before lunch starts!!!

Well you you won't be unhappy with Boma! It's my first choice breakfast place. ::yes::

I've had breakfast twice at Fresh and enjoyed it very much. :thumbsup2And it did feel like a more 'wholesome' meal.

Favorite non-buffet breakfast was at Kona :thumbsup2

I've heard great things about Spoodles for breakfast and am very sad it will be CLOSED when I go in September. Sorry, don't remember when it is closing (or if it already has).
