Looking for a new read

I'm sort of in between books right now and looking for something new to read. Any suggestions? :goodvibes

I prefer to use my Kindle and it can be Disney related or not. I've read Disney Wars and Spinning Disney's World but maybe there is one I haven't heard of. I especially like action/thriller books and do not like "chick flick" books. I find them boring.

Out of desperation I'm reading Hitchickers Guide to the Galaxy for the zillionth time, however it has been a few years since the last time. Of course, that's always funny no matter how many times I read it. Anyway, I'm the type of person who always has several books going at once so I thought I'd see if anyone has any suggestions.

Have you read any of the Dan Brown books? I recently read The Lost Symbol and loved it!! My favorite of his books is Angels and Demons, I could read that a 100 times and still love it. I also just reread Jurassic Park, which is always a thrilling read. I really love reading thriller novels and have really enjoyed books by Harlan Coben, they have a great sense of humor to them!

I would recommend any book by Jodi Picoult (specifically My Sister's Keeper), but you mentioned you don't like "chick flick" books then maybe not. They're really good though (not thriller/action but they certainly are suspenseful and incorporate social/moral issues) and she has written a ton of them.

A while ago I read The Disneyland Encyclopedia, but I don't know if it is available on Kindle. And really only a Disney nerd would read that (I LOVED it!).

Hope that helps!

Ten Who Dared. Take a look on amazon I got a copy for 25 cents a while ago.

I have the DL Enclopedia and love it! In fact the author taught at the same school as my DH just a few years ago. I'm going to check out those Harlan Coben books since there seem to be a lot. Which book came first?

Thanks, I'll look in to that too tomorrow.

I highly recommend "Salem's Lot" by Stephen King. I enjoyed reading it so much, that I have actually read it more than once.
There is also a most excellent t.v. show by the same title. It originally aired as a mini-series on NBC. There is a remake which is not nearly as good. And the motion picture sequel is pure garbage. How S K allowed that film to be made, I can only imagine.
Pet Cemetery is also an excellent novel. The motion picture is not worth watching.

One of my favorite books was Watchers, written by Dean Koontz. If you haven't read that yet, try it out. :)

I've read a lot of SK but not Salem's Lot so I'll check in to that one and also that mini series. I've read Pet Cemetary and seen the movie.

Yep, read that one. ::yes:: One summer I read a lot of his books.

Ok, this might fall into the chick lit category but, have you read any more books from the No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency? I think you read the first one, right? You should read some more of those. They're not action/adventure (for the most part) but they're funny. I also like the 44 Scotland Street series (by the same author). Again, not action/adventure but still fun to read.

Oh, how about Peter and the Starcatchers? It's a kids book but it's interesting to read a back-story about Peter Pan. I've only read the first one of that series but i thought it was pretty good.

That's right, I forgot I was reading that series. I read the first two and did like them. It has enough problem solving in it to keep me interested. I didn't know about the other series, so I'll check that too.

I actually heard about Peter and Starcatchers on the Mousetalgia podcast and it sounded interesting.
