Looking For A New Bag To Carry All My Stuff

I'm thinking of buying a new bag for our trip next month but I'm not sure of which one to get. Does anyone have one of those "healthy" bags? I wish I new the name of them, they are supposed to be better on your back and they are sort of shaped like a kidney ? LLBean sells them and I know other companies do as well but I'm not sure who. I think I would like one of those or maybe a mini-back pack? I got one from walmart in January but its shiny purple and DBF doesn't exactly want to carry it around (Ican't blame him) I don't like fanny packs so they aren't even an option. Any advise, or pics or websites, to find a good bag? Oh, and I dont want to have to worry about it gettng wet either Thanks

It's a sling backpack and you can find them all sorts of places, but as a Mainer I'd definitely prefer an LL Bean bag... they are roomier than some of the others and you get a lifetime guarantee so you can't go wrong! They're comfortable too and leave your arms free.

I have the LL Bean one you mentioned.. very functional, easy to carry, plus having it in a neutral color, DH doesn't mind carrying it from time to time. But being the handbag snob I am.. I'm torn between that & my pink Kate Spade backpack!!!

ETA: I got my LL Bean off of Ebay & saved a bunch.. also, I have an LL Bean outlet near me & sometimes they'll have them in stock... usually embroidered with someone's initials but I figure you could slap a Disney patch over it & go!!

I tore my rotator cuff on my left shoulder in 1991 and since then I have carried my purse, backpack etc on my right arm. This past year I had a mastectomy with lymph removal and now I can't carry anything on my right shoulder because of the lymphedema.
So, if I want to carry my wallet, sunglasses, tickets etc, it is either a lanyard or a fanny pack.

Actually, fanny packs are really functional ..and Hands free!!!!! I used to wear them but they make me look hippier than I already am!! DH wears one & no one gives him a second glance! I say do whatever works & is comfy for you!! Now those girls that wear high heels to parks is another subject altogether... WTH?!?!

I have nothing against fanny packs, I just don't want to wear one DBF and I bought fanny packs when we had our dog in puppy -K (it was required that we have them for snacks) and I just couldn't imagine wearing that thing full of stuff, it was uncomfortable with just puppy snacks in it. That is why they make different kinds of bags, we are all comfortable in something different. If I had to guess I would think more DISer's carry fanny packs than back packs.

I appreciate the info on the LLBean bags and I have one more question, make that 2

Can you wear it diagnally across yoru chest? Or just over one shoulder?

And what size do you have?

I have the large sized one because I use it to bring my books to school. It's made to go across the chest, but if I'm in a hurry I just sling it over one shoulder. It's surprisingly comfortable.

My sister has quite a few of those bags. She has gotten hers from both LL BEAN and The Healthy Back Store. Try those sites for bags. But I was with her recently shopping and she asked me to hold her bag and despite the fact she had that bag LOADED, I put it on my back and it was awesome. She has one that is leather and one that is MICROFIBER. She has small and medium. She has one for her workouts and one for work. They are really something. I want one.

i like the one just got from FOSSIL- i got it for my december disney trip- it was very comfortable....it goes right across your chest...it think AAA site sells them also.

I used a small backpack last October and just loved it! Small enough to be lightweight, but big enough to carry the essentials plus a lightweight jacket or shirt.

My tip: Whatever you use, be sure to try it out at home, "fully loaded", before you cut the tags off!!! I bought one I thought I would like, but once I put all my stuff in it, it was very uncomfortable. Dug into my shoulders. I got another one and loved it.

I bought a Bagillini Messenger Bag from www.ebags.com as recommended on here. I used it at the zoo the other week and *LOVED* it!!! There are so many little pockets and places to hide tickets, room keys, and wallets. Also a water bottle holder.

I have the Ameribag. I ordered if from Sierra Trading Post. They have them starting at $24.95. I used mine when we went at thanksgiving and loved it. I am going to order me another one in a different color.

I just bought a really cute Tinkerbell sling backpack on ebay....I still may get a Baggallini for our trip but this one I found was too cute to pass up! It was $20.00 with shipping and has a side pocket for a water bottle.

So many options to choose from!! That tinkerbell bag sounds nice but I'd be in the same situation as now, BF won't carry purple bags or tinkerbell bags. As anyone tried all the ameribag, Bagillini, and LL Bean bags? Or even 2 of the 3? I'd like maybe a comparision. I had a really cute disney sling bag but the straps were way too long and it hung over my butt rather than my back and it eventually fell apart. BF did carry that bag around for me.

I have the large Ameribag, used it last year and loved it. Had it packed to the gills! I liked having all the pockets inside. I could find everything I was looking for even in the dark!

HMMMMM...now you all have gotten me undecided about what bag would be best for us to take to WDW! I was planning on the Baggalline Messenger but after reading about this healthy back bag I'm torn. I suppose since my kiddos are 3 and 6 we may want to haul around a little more than what would fit in the baggallini....any advice?

DH and I have several Camelback bags for hiking, biking, skiing, etc. Turns out that they are great for WDW days, too! The one we used on our last 2 trips is the MULE, which is designed for mtn biking. It has the camelback bladder which we fill with ice and bottled water (we buy a 5 gallon jug at a grocery stop before check-in). What can be bad about carrying an icepack on your back in Florida?! It has lots of compartments and everything is very accessible.
As an added bonus, the bag gets roomier as you drink the water, so you can cram in those "few little things" you can't resist at the shops. Also, it is gender neutral (how pc of me!) so I can usually stick DH with carrying duty.

The ex small size is 16x9x5 1/2 according to the sierra Trading post website. I have the medium size in the indigo nylon and love it.
