We are going to Cleveland next weekend and before I priceline a room I was hoping someone could recommend a mall near Cleveland. We will be coming up from Columbus for something else during the day but have the evening free and we would all like to shop together. We really do not want to do Tower City Mall. Thanks

it's been years but when my BiL & SiL lived in Brunswick we would go to South Park mall. It was pretty nice.

What happened to Tower City? I haven't been since my oldest was around four, he's 18 now. I remember they used to have a Warner Bros store there that we loved. It used to be pretty nice.

Tower City did not have many of the stores we were looking for. They have a few, but we were hoping for a mall that contained more mainstream stores than speciality shops.

I was there last month before the Cavs game and it's depressing. I didn't walk around, but just looked over the balcony from Hard Rock and the store directory map and there is not much there. Such a waste of a beautiful structure.

Anyways, depends on what you are looking for in a mall. My main mall is Southpark in Strongsville. It has evolved into a great budget-conscious mall with a lot of affordable options, plus a recent addition that includes a movie theater. If you're looking for a mall with higher end stores, I would go to Beachwood in the city of the same name. There's also Crocker Park in Westlake which is a mix of those two, but I was just there two days ago and it is brutal in the winter because it's an outdoor mall.

that is a bummer. I take it the warner bros store isn't there anymore? I remember it being nice, never was large but offered some different things. That WB store was our huge pull. We usually made a day of it and hit Little Italy in the afternoon for lunch and walked coventry. Definitely not something the OP would want to do right now.

There is also Great Northern.

It depends how far you want to drive. I would recommend Southpark mall in Strongsville if you want a variety of stores and an easy drive off the freeway. I also like the outlet mall in Aurora which may be a bit out of your way but they have great deals like all outlet malls do. Unfortunately the downtown area is not that great, we usually go there only for sporting events and theater. I wish someone would revive the city and make the downtown area family friendly.

Southpark mall looks exactly like what we were hoping for. Can anyone tell me how far Middleburg Heights is from there? It seems to be coming up on Priceline and Hotwire as well as Independence.
Thanks so much for suggesting this mall! My mom will be happy to hear we are not staying downtown. :)

I was also going to suggest Southpark, especially since it is less than a mile from 71 which I assume is what you'll be taking up from Columbus.

As for Middleburg, it is very close. I'm going to assume that if you are staying in a hotel in Middleburg you'll probably be around Bagley and Engle. If you jump on 71 right by the mall you are one or two (depending on which way you want to go) exits from Middlebug. The first exit is Peal Rd and the second is Bagley. Independence is not really close to Southpark and I can't think of any decent traditional malls over there. There is a new outdoor shopping area not too far from there that has a lot of mall-type stores. Was there something specific you were looking for at the mall?

I live in Strongsville now, have lived in Berea (which borders Middleburg), and grew up in the area so if you have any questions let me know.
