Greetings, everyone. I'm sneaking over here from my usual hiding spot on the Canadian Board - shhhh, don't tell them.
Long story short - my father died last month in Regina, SK and my mother has very graciously offered to give us his car for our university-aged kids to use. So next weekend my son and I are flying from our home in London, ON to Regina and driving the car back. The most direct route takes us through Fargo, Minneapolis, Chicago and Flint, with Minneapolis being the approximate midway point.
Since we'll be driving back on a Sunday/Monday, we would like to get to the east side of the twin cities Sunday so as to minimize any issues with rush hour traffic Monday morning. Can anyone familiar with the area suggest a decent hotel we can stay at for the Sunday night, maybe in the Oakdale/Woodbury/North St Paul area? I would rather spend a few bucks to get a quality room (I've stayed in enough ratholes to know I don't want to do that again) but don't want to if it's not necessary.
The last time I was in that area was over 30 years ago, so any suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks.
