After an hour searching, I've come to the conclusion that I should just ask you all what Omega 3 you use! Every site I go to is an advertisement for their own brand, I swear! My DH has been buying the fish oil from Costco, but I'm not sure it's very good. We have a few health stores here I could browse, but just wondered any of you feel strongly about a certain one.
Thanks!

If you have a Walgreens near you they have an Omega supplement on sale for $10 and you get a $10 register reward back making it free!

I like the Nature's Bounty 1400mg Triple Strength Pharmaceutical Grade fish oil. I picked it up at Costco cause it has 980 mg of EPA/DHA, is purified to eliminate mercury, and has a special coating to try to reduce fishy burps. I have never noticed a taste with them and I like that it has so much Omega-3's in them so I only have to take one a day. I did some research and used some other kinds before this... but I think I will stick with this one for the time being.

Dr. Oz recommends to find one produced from algae. I was thinking of starting to take it as well but haven't had the time to look around for the right one.

My son and I take the liquid Carlson Fish Oil

http://www.amazon.com/Carlson-Fines...39RO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1307413710&sr=8-1

I read that Fish Oil was good for ADD and it seems to help him. It has the highest EPA/DHA I have found. You would have to take 3or 4 pills to equal it. The pills say 1000mg, but if you read the back there is usually only 300 EPA/DHA, the liquid has 1300 EPA/DHA in 1 teaspoon. It is lemon flavor, tastes alot like you would thing pledge would taste. Not the greatest, but once I swallow some water I don't taste it anymore and have never had fish burps from it. My son complains when he takes it, but he always reminds me to give it to him, he does say it helps him focus.

Oh, I didn't know Costco had a good fish oil! I am going to look for this when I go next. I am also ordering the Nordic Naturals for me and gummies for my kids to try them out. I have tried lemon flavored cod liver oil before on my kids and myself and just couldn't love it. My Mom used to give me a teaspoon before bed when I was young since I had JRA and I thought it was pure torture, lol. But, it probably is the most potent...maybe I'll try it again someday. Thank you all for your suggestions!!

We take NOW brand omega 3-6-9. No fishy aftertaste. DH was having a hard time taking the omegas cause of that.

I buy the enteric coated pills from Costco.

Consumer Reports recently said that Costco brand vitamins/fish oil pills are of excellent quality.

I love hearing that about Costco's pills, and thank you for the nutritionist recommendation of Nordic Naturals! I ended up ordering those from Swansons Health so looking forward to trying them!

Bought a bottle of Omega 3-6-9 the other day then listened to marine biologist on public radio discuss the overfishing of species just to get fish oils.

I think I'll just go back to ground flax!

My fiance and and I take Carlson Fish Oil. I'm currently taking 4 teaspoons of that a day--WITH MEALS. We take the liquid variety because we really do a high dose of it. If you are eating a standard american diet (lots of carbs, beans, processed foods, corn-fed beef (as opposed to grass fed beef), and not enough seafood) you need to get LOTS of Omega 3s to balance out your Omega 6s. Omega 6s are PRO inflammatory and Omega 3s are ANTI inflammatory and the ratio of the two are very important in your body. The only natural foods that have good amounts of Omega 3s are grass fed meats, some seafood and organic/pasture raised eggs.

Flax is NOT a good alternative, as your body has to do a lot of work to get the DHA/EPA out of a plant-based Omega 3.

If you are interested in getting a good dosing recommendation to really get the benefits of Omega 3 (which is going to be lots more than a pill a day), check out this fish oil calculator: http://whole9life.com/fish-oil/

If you go with a pill form as opposed to liquid, I recommend the store-brand at Costco. Keep the pills or liquid in the fridge. The reason I do liquid is because I got sick of taking those giant horse pills all the time and the liquid actually tastes good.

I take Lovaza, it is by perscription only and is covered my most insurance plans

Wow, good information! Thank you so much for your link to the fish oil calculator too!

We use the Nordic Naturals liquid. My dd loves it and asks for it if I forget to give it to her.

Blue Ice fermented cod liver oil is the best quality, but it's also pretty pricey. It comes in a lot of flavors though.
