Ok hubby is a steak eater I wanna surprise him and go to a good steak place, I was thinking maybe Le Cellier? Is there another place that is better? Anywhere at WDW will work....
Opinions please?!?
Also we will have our 2 year old with us so no adult only places for us also I don't like steak, just not my style, but hey this trip isn't just about me LOL
~Thanks everyone~

My first reaction was to say go to California Grill, but then saw the no adult only places. I had the best steak there, I could cut it with my fork. There were some families eating there. So, perhaps you might consider it.
We have also had good steaks at LeCellier, Grand Floridian Cafe and Kona.

No reason you can't go there with a two yr old. And the steak is always great. Not to mention The Brown Derby at HS. We're trying Shula's at the Dolphin for the first time this trip.

Shula's or Yachtsman should be the top 2 considerations if you're looking for a above average steak at Disney. Granted, the best steaks I've had are outside of Disney altogether, but the steaks at Shula's and Yachtsman are significantly better than Le Cellier. In fact, any of the signatures that offer a steak dinner are considerably better than Le Cellier...i.e. the filets at Jiko or Citrico's are coming to mind.

I'm a filet lover and I've never had a steak at Le Cellier or Yachstman better than those I've had at California Grill or Citricos. ALL are child-friendly, particularly California Grill - I wouldn't hesitate to take a 2yo to any of them (and I did that very thing). The filet at Jiko is excellent, too, but I read they took it off the menu recently. (or maybe just the combo with mac & cheese - maybe the a filet is still offered)

Whispering Canyon has a nice ribeye, as well as many other dishes. I would check out their menu.
And it is very kid friendly. Depending on how old the child is with you, they have games, yell and do antics with the children.

And I highly recommend that ribeye.

LeCellier is very good as well, but it is more of an "upscale" setting. Kids are welcome and have a good time, but it isn't like they do games and stuff.

This may seem to be a strange recommendation ... but I had a GREAT steak at Coral Reef. I bet your 2-year would love the tank too.

FWIW, the best steak in the world is Shulas but it is VERY adult (no kids menu) and your child is still too young for the Dolphin Club which is free with your meal.

FYI, the only restaurant with an age restriction is Victoria and Albert's. No children under 10. I've seen kids everywhere else on property, from all the signature restaurant down to the food courts.

IMHO, the steaks at Disney aren't the best steaks, but I'm used to the steaks I can find in the Chicago area. Since I tend to stick with the filets, the one I thought was the best lately was Shula's at the Swan. Doesn't participate in the Dining Plan, though.

If I wanted a steak and had Dining Plan credits to use, I'd probably pick California Grill.

we like the steaks at Coral Reef too, and I agree about the 2 year old loving the tank...

also we love the steak (on a skewer) at 'Ohana:thumbsup2

Shula's is clearly the best--but they are not particularly child friendly. While children are allowed, they are not "encouraged". There is no published childrens menu--you need to ask. And it is VERY limited.

So--that leaves Yachtsman Steakhouse as the next best. It has a good selection of steak and is child friendly as well.

My DH is picky about his steak, and he really enjoyed the steak at Coral Reef.

How about Jiko. They have a nice filet and other dishes that you may enjoy. Plus your little one may enjoy seeing some of the animals before dinner.

We actually went to the Yachstman with my youngest son when he was only 10 months and it was fine. But the dishes there are heavy on steak and there may not be something that you would enjoy.

I enjoyed our prime rib at Saratoga Springs Turf Club. We also had steak at Big River Grill on the Boardwalk. We liked SSR better.

Kona Cafe at Polynesian Resort. The dinner was fabulous. From the bread with the macadamian nut butter to the chocolate vanilla creme brulee dessert. This place was great. You and your daughter will enjoy any of the other entrees too. Family friendly and easy access to get to since the monorail stops right at the hotel. The steak was cooked to perfection and so delicious. Everyone in our party really thought this was one of our best meals at Disneyworld.

I vote Shulas as well but but as for other, more kid friendly options, it would help to know what cut of steak you are looking for.

Yachtsman has a great variety of cuts, other signatures like Cali Grill and Jiko have only the filet. I also agree that Whispering Canyon Cafe surprised me with a very good ribeye. Many places will have a ny strip on the menu but I don't care for that cut so I can't recommend anywhere that has a good one.

The BEST BEST BEST BEST steak is at the Turf Club at Saratoga Springs. It is literally the best kept disney secret - even the waiters and waitresses say so! I have tried steak at so many restaurants at WDW , and none of them measure up to Turf Club. The meal is fantastic, and we always end up going there twice on our trips when we stay at Saratoga Springs. My personal favorite is the prime rib with mashed potatoes, and then for dessert the apple pie :) SO GOOD. I recommend with my whole heart for you to go there, because I completely guarantee you will not be disappointed. :thumbsup2

I agree with you on both accounts. :thumbsup2

As for the op; I can name several places for a good steak and all of them IMHO are better than Le'Cellier which I wouldn't even rank in my top 5.

Narcoossee's
California Grill
Yachtsman
Coral Reef
Turf Club
WCC

The best steak I had on property was at the Cali Grill, I found the steak at Yachtsman and Narcossee to be disapointing TBH.

I thoroughly enjoyed my steak at the Yachtsman. So much, in fact, I returned the next night.
