Looking for a Good PC Laptop Since I Can't Afford a Mac.

I'm looking for a PC laptop that will play DVD's and Facebook games with at least a 15" monitor that won't break the bank. I'd really like a 10-key pad since I want to use it for a masters program in business. I've noticed most laptops that are 15" or bigger have the 10-key which is a nice feature. Any help would be appreciated. I need to stay below $900 if possible since money is tight.

With a budget of $900, you can just go to best buy and have at it, there'll be plenty of selection for you. Try them out, and see which one you like.

That said, depending on your comfort level, if you're okay with mail order and not much support after that, you can pretty easily get down to around the $400-500 price range for a pretty nice system.

FYI - You can purchase a external 10-key that plugs into the laptop with a USB connection. I am an auditor, so trust me I use it!!

I find most with the 10-key pad are usually 17" or larger. HP has a nice selection of computers for under $900 with it. It's one feature I wish they would start making standard on laptops. I hate using the numbers across the top, and can type much faster using the 10-key number pad to the side.

If you really want a MAc know that they offer savings to anyone in college. They even had a special once that you got preferred pricing and a free IPOD touch after rebate.

Everyone that is buying a mac for back to school is currently waiting. People are predicting that they will announce a similar deal soon.
