Looking for a FoP FP+ and wait times update

With the increase in FP+ for FoP I was wondering how things are currently going. From what I can see on touringplans.com it looks like availability is still at 64+ days. Is this what people are experiencing? Also, with the increase in FP+, how have the wait times been impacted? How long are you waiting in your FP+ line? Have stand-by wait times increased? Just thought I would check in and get some current reports. Thanks!

When I was there, standby lines were still pretty crazy (100 Min + outside of the first and last 20 mins the park was open). The standby "line" isn't super long, but the process to do the ride can be. It generally took us between 25-30 mins to walk the queue, go through the pre-show, ride the ride, and exit the building.

We were at AK 9/27. On Fri 9/22 out of the blue a bunch of FP+ times became available for Pandora (which was previously all out) and I was able to grab 4 of them for 9:20-10:20.

We arrived at AK around 8:30 (9am opening) hoping to avoid early FoP crowd but still early enough too ride NRJ without too much wait. We were able to do NRJ boat ride twice then headed over to FoP. We waited about 15 minutes before entering the 1st linking room. When we exited the stated wait was 170 mins, our friends who were there waited about 2 hours without FP at 10:45am. We loved the ride and wanted to do it again but the lowest wait I saw the rest of day was 45 minutes and that was in the evening.

Got FPs for our party of 4 today on our 60 + 3 day at 1pm. Booked at exactly 6AM CST. So excited!

What do you mean increase in FP? More fps are released when the hours extend, but that wouldn't increase the wait anymore than usual

That is exciting! There is hope!

I am also wondering for those who have used FP lately, how long the FP line has been. When Disney increased the number of FPs for FoP, I know some were concerned that it would make the wait time in the FP line longer.

Sorry I wasn't clear. A couple of weeks ago, I thought that there was discussion on the board that Disney increased the number of FP they were distributing for FoP. All of a sudden people were reporting a flood of FP available for FoP. Maybe the thread I had read was incorrect. I am not sure.

My AK day fell on 64th day. I just booked first FoP that appears on screen. Its a 1:20 - 2:10 or something like that. Didnt wanna risk spending more time looking so just took it.

I don’t believe there has been any discernible impact on wait times, and I am not sure that flood—whatever it was—was anything more than temporary.

I didn't ride it before the extra FP release in sept but it did take a little while to enter the preshow area last week (between 10-15 min). That being said it really didn't seem like any longer of a wait than I've had in recent years with Soarin. I've also noticed on recent trips some FP lines have decent waits before the merge with standby (Buzz, Toy story midway mania, etc).

So was the FP release talked about here only temporary? Bummer if it was. I had my fingers crossed that it would help us get FPs for January.

My understanding was that when FOP originally opened Disney was conservative with the number of FP released until they got a better understanding of capacity for it. So then, similar to 7DMT they released a bunch later after they ironed things out. So it would seem to be easier to get FP.

I am the crazy one hoping for day 61!

for my upcoming trip 10/30-11/5 I got FoP on day 63 and 65 nothing earlier. I was there in July and was able to get them in July too, and this really is the coolest thing I have ever been on.

You read the post correctly. A bunch of FP's opened up for FoP the end of Sept. I don't know the reason, but I was able to change the time on my FP about 35 days before my trip.

All because someone here posted the info. Thank You Dis!
