We have a small collection of pins (from resorts we've stayed at and events we've attended) and would like to display them. I've been looking for a nice Disney display board or shadow box, but so far no luck.

Do such things exist? :confused3 Seems like it would be a no-brainer for Disney's mechandising group given how many people are buying pins...

I can always get a generic one, of course, but if there is already something out there made specifically for Disney pins I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks!

My dad made me a big glass coffee table, that has two drawers that I can put all my Disney pins in. He just got done making it last weekend. I don't have any of my pins in it yet, as I am going to be going to Disneyland soon and wanted to wait as I will be buying more pins. But when I get home I will be putting all my pins in it. And once I get all the pins in it, I will take more pictures of it and post a thread on here about it!

So that's where to find them - thanks! The photo frame one is close to what I am looking for. If anyone knows of others please let me know. :)

The photo frames are cute but they are small. I think they are 8X10. Not very big if you have a collection of more than 20 pins.
I have quite a few cork boards that I bought at Walmart. They have nice wood frames and they have several sizes. I paint the cork whatever color I want for a background. For my Mickey pins I used black paint with a red border. My Figment pins have a pink background with a purple border and my Patriotic pins are on a white background with blue and red border of sparkle paint.
You can use any type of acrylic paints and any colors that you like, so you can personalize these to suit your mood or room.
If you want you can use postcards or either clipart of photos of characters to further decorate the corkboard or the frame. Someday I will become more computer literate and post some photos. You can see how some people have framed their pins on Dizpins too.

It looks like I'm a little late on this one but I just posted some instructions on how to make an inexpensive frame for displaying pins. Check it out at northpub.com. I haven't posted enough on this forum to put in a direct link, but it currently is the second article down on the page.

Thanks,
Steve

I normally go to Michael's or AC Moore or Jaonns for my pin displays. I buy shadow boxes. I've also gotten those thick poster/foam boards, back it with a thin sheet of wood, and cover it with some material. I use the wood backing so the material has something to attach to and also allows me to attach hanging pieces to hang on the wall. Came out pretty decent.

I wish I was better at framing pins than I am.
But DH (who collects Hard Rock Cafe pins) and I use what has already been mentioned. (Corkboards from Walmart and shadow box frames from Michael's.)
I have considered using liquid nails to adhere corkboard squares to the outside of my house and pushing pins in the corkboard. Viola! New siding. :lmao: However I don't think our home owner's association would allow it. ;)
hmmm.. Maybe a new roof.... :rotfl:

Also, I have a few of the Mickey holders. Nice for a small collection of pins.
I agree the frame is too small on the other. We need JUMBO size.

Now here is a question, (moderators I don't think this breaks the rules but if it does sorry and please remove)

I was looking at starting a woodworking business with a Disney Flair, We collect many things and we have a few pins. If I was to build items where would you suggest I sell them? My own website? Ebay?

Ideas?

I tried to order the pin collection photo frame on line at that link. Nothing comes up for either the sku # 9885842 or the words "pin collection photo frame". Just lists a whole bunch of other mdse. Is there a secret to ordering online from that site????

Please help - that frame is exactly what I want.

I have purchased a regular shadow box and made a flat "pillow" out of Disney material and velcroed it into the shadow box. It was fun to make and I think it looks great. See below for pics of my creations:

I can't wait until my October 2007 trip so I can make more displays for the many pins I plan to purchase.

I have my pins displayed in shadow boxes and display cases that I bought at Hobby Lobby. If you have one in your area they have all kinds of them. In fact we were there yesterday and I saw they were all on sale for 50% off. I line mine with a piece of red felt that shows off the pins really well.

Wow - great ideas for displaying pins!:thumbsup2

I currently have 100+ pins "stored" in a small pin trading bag - not ideal!:sad2:

how do you attach the pins? I'm new to this and not very creative.

I bought the Hobby Lobby shadow boxes at the 50% off sale and there is some soft batting inside. I took the pin backs off and set them in the frame and shut the door. The sharp pin goes thru the batting, and holds it in place. I bought some black velvet, and I am going to cover the batting with that so it will look better than the plain white batting. They have several different sizes, and they can be hung on the wall, or stood up as it has an easel back.
