Looking for a digital camera for our trip. Want something easy to use, not too big, and with the movie mode. What can you suggest? We belong to Costco too...haven't checked theirs out yet. Thanks :goodvibes

Definitely check Costco. I was just there and they had several nice digital cameras on display. Also check Ritz.com just to get some ideas on what's available. :flower:

I just got a nice Olympus c-60 on Ebay from Olympus for around that. it has movie mode and many other modes and is very easy to use. It is 6.1 MP and the pictures are gorgeous! I am not normally a digital lover but I am very impressed by this camera.

her is an auction on Ebay from Olympus

Quoted from their site "A compact and durable metal camera that’s packed with the premium features photographers love. From its 6.1 megapixel CCD and advanced shooting modes to its 12x total seamless zoom lens and fast image processing, the C-60 is a pocket-sized camera with quite a punch."

here is their site

Estimated retail price new it $349.99 but refurbished you can get sheaper and they still ahve their warranties. They have one (no biiding, directly from them) for $249.99. their refurbished, no bidding page is here

I LOVE my Kodak easyshare.........place camera on the dock and boom the pics are loaded..............I have had others but the easy share is by far my favorite...................i pd about 199 for camera and dock on ebay. NEW in box!!

I was just at Costco earlier today! They have a 3.1 MP with movie mode (I believe it was a kodak brand) for 97.00 and came with 16 mb of internal memory. Should be good for what you are looking for......... :cool1:

I have a Cannon Powershot A70 (3.2 megapixels) that I absolutely love. It is an older model but they have a A80 or something that is a little updated. They are a little bigger than most digital cameras these days because it uses 4 AA batteries. I think that that is the best part- I will never be without a camera battery and I bought the 30min quick charge energizer batteries so every few days I plug them in and they are all charged. This is also great because I can take the batteries and use them in my cd player on the plane and my little flashlight and whatever else uses AA batteries. Besides, if something happens to them I can pick up AA batteries from anywhere.

Dell home has 15% off most digital cameras this weekend. They have a number of Canon, Kodak and Fuji cameras that will meet your needs in the $175-$260 range. The Kodaks are some of the easiest cameras to use. the nicest one (IMO) in the $200-$300 range is the 7630 which is a 6MP camera that shoots 320x280 video at 24fps for up to 80 minutes straight depending on the amount of memory you have in the camera. Dell is selling it for $251 with free shipping and no tax depending on where you live. Good luck on your serach.

Last week Target had a bunch on sale for 15% off...Dh's camera he got last summer was under $150 now and he paid over 200 for it last summer when it just came out. It's a great camera...sorry can't remember the exact brand...a small Cannon...works incredibly!

I just bought a canon powershot S1 IS.. it has a 10x optical zoom and 3.2 megapixils.. I uses 4 AA batteries..

Target had the Kodak easyshare (no idea which one) with the Printer Dock for 220 today. I love mine unfortunately I didnt get the printer dock when I bought mine and it has been discontinued so the new printer docks wont work with it.

We've got a Nikon Coolpix 2100 that we love -- compact and takes beautiful pics! I ran a check on Google's Froogle site and found that you could pick one up for about $150. Use the extra money to pick up at least a 256k Compact Flash card and a rechargeable battery kit. The regular (nonrechargeable) batteries cost $18 for a two pack at Walmart, but you can pick up a rechargeable and the charger for not much more if you search on Amazon.

Same here - I just love mine, too. :cool1:

do you have a wal-mart near by. If so I am not sure about all of them but both Walm-marts near me are having a huge sale on digital cameras. When I asked why they said all the cameras they have are getting discountinued and new models are coming out. They have some really good brands and models though. They had the Kodak for around 200.00. I love my Sony. It has 4.1 MG and takes great pictures even when I print them myself on my portable HP photosmart(which I also love BTW).

Our Target had a bunch of digital cameras on clearance. Always ask for the merchandise to be scanned because sometimes the stickers do not reflect new markdowns. If you have an OfficeMax near you call and see if they have the Canon Powershot A400 and IP3000 printer bundle in stock for $149. You can then send in the current Canon rebate to get $70 back making the price $79 + tax. I just bought this for my mom's birthday and it's really nice. Check out this thread about it on fatwallet:
http://www.fatwallet.com/t/18/459780

Do read through threads at Fatwallet - people are always posting deals on digital cameras.

The Nikon coolpix line is nice. I have an old Nikon Coolpix 995 that I bought when it was the top of the line digicam by Nikon. I love it still - I have a bunch of lenses for it, and I use it for landscape photography.

I just bought the Canon Powershot Elph SD110 to use for everyday because it is so small I can put it in my purse. It takes great pics. Amazon has it for $169.99, which is a little more than I paid for it there a few weeks ago. You can purchase with one of the Canon PIXMA printers (IP3000) to do the $70 Canon rebate again. I also got ordered a Coach case for it which Amazon has for free with coupon (listed on the SD110 page).

Good luck!!!

this is camera clearance time at target and I got mine there last year

a Fuji A210 for $140 and I love this camera! IT is so very easy to use and you do not need a dock just plug in the USB cord and you pics are downloaded in seconds.

Some thing to remember when buying a digitial the batteries! I would opt for a camera that uses regular AA's then buy a recharger Target has one for $9.99 comes with 2 batteries I beleive. But that is my preference I don't like having to pay large amounts for batteries.

Sears has a Kodak digital for 99.00. Its very straightforward. It does have a movie mode, however it doesn't last long. I like the ease and I don't like lots of bells and whistles so this works for me. Good Luck.

I love my Kodak Easy Share cx7330. It has 3.1 MP and 3X optical zoom~~you really want optical zoom b/c it gives you better pictures. I got mine at Wal-Mart during Christmas for $150. You should use the rest to pick up a memory card and rechargable batter charger with batteries. It's a basic digital camera that can do movies as long as you have space on your memory card. I love mine and have taken great pictures with it so far~~check out the cute one down below :teeth: .

Just saw this in todays (sundays) Target circular.

Canon 3.2-megapixel digital camera
Price Cut 149.99, Was 179.99*
Exclusively at Target–sleek black finish!
With 2x optical/3x digital zoom and 1.5" LCD screen. No. A400.

Free $15 Target® GiftCard instantly with purchase! GiftCard automatically given at register; no rain checks.

I bought this for my DBF for Xmas-. He took it to WDW for our Dec trip and loved it. The pictures are amazing and the camera really easy to use. Only recomendation is to purchase rechargable batteries. (It comes standard with AAs)

And the #1 reason I bought this, was b/c it is so slim that you will want to carry everywhere. I have an older Nikon thats a great camera but too bluky

:goodvibes And.....another vote to check out Target! :goodvibes

I just bought one for my DD there....originally $199, clearance at $152!!
It is an Olympus.....3.2 megapix and has digital zoom along with Opical.....IMHO...you really need "optical zoom"!
and movie mode. uses AA batteries....but Target also has good deals on rechargables!

I also saw the exact one that I paid $250 for in Oct 03 is now clearance at $179......comes with Ion rechargable battery. (DD didn't want the "exact same one as 'mom'" or I would have gotten that one for her!) It is also an Olympus. and I love it!

These have been at 30% off for a couple weeks....might be going to 50% soon....you might get lucky and hit it on the right day!! :goodvibes
