Now that school is back in session and life is busier I am really working on my menu planning. I like crock pots but find that if I leave at 8 don't get home until 4 dinner is usually overcooked. I dont have one of the crock pots that automatically goes to warm. Anyone have one they would recommend?

I have two that have the automatic warm setting after the cooking time, one for smaller recipes, one for larger, they are both the Crock Pot (by Rival, I believe) brand. I know the smaller one I bought at Wal-mart was only about $25, the larger one my husband picked up, I think that may have been around 50-60 (he also got it at Wal-Mart)

We also own the Rival programmable model - the one we own is a mid-size version I believe - and it is great, cooks at a very even temperature, and of course the removable crock is great!

I HIGHLY suggest the disposable crock-pot liners if you are going to cook all day, as the liquid line around the top can become quite backed on. I believe Reynolds makes the ones we use.

There are a LOT of great crock pot cook books out there! :)

I have a large one and a small one. I love both of them. The large one is a EuroPro and is 5 or 6 quarts. The small one is a Cuisinart 3.5 qt programmable. I love that both of them switch to keep warm until I get home from work and turn them off.
