Looking for 1 credit dinner outside of the parks

We are on the dinning plan and looking for a dinner the night we arrive. I don't want to go into the parks. Any hotel or downtown disney is fine. I also have a dd4 but she is really good at restaurants. I only want a 1 credit meal.

Any suggestions would be great.

Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. The kids will love the characters and it is a great 1st night meal to get you in real Disney spirit. It is a buffet and the characters make the rounds. Added fun is riding the monorail there and getting a peak at the Magic Kingdom.

I haven't tried either of these, but my guess is that either Chef Mickey's or Ohana would be great choices for you. Both are 1 credit character meals. Actually, Ohana might only have the characters for breakfast, so you might want to check on that one first. I'm not positive.

Those are two outside of the parks we'll be going to that are one credit. Just go to the site and look at the resorts on the plan, it'll show you clearly which are more than one credite.

How about Concourse Steak House? I've also heard the Maya Grill at Coronado Springs is vastly underrated (we have ADRs there for our upcoming trip in May).

DD5 and I both love Boma. We've gone there on our first night on more than one trip (and will again this May). The food is so good and there are so many choices. Plus, AKL is worth a visit if you've never been there. 1900 Park Fare, Chef Mickey's, 'Ohana, or Cape May would also be good choices.

My 1st choice would be Spoodle's the Boardwalk is fun and I think they might let you in Epcot after Illuminations starts if it's not a late EMH night, without using your ticket. Even if they don't you can stand right outside the International Gate and enjoy a good view of the fireworks.

My 2nd choice would be Boma, I'm not a buffet person person but the lodge is fabulous and walking around and seeing the animals will probably be nice for your DD.

I will vote for 'Ohana. This is one of my fav's, & I eat here at least twice each trip. WCC is pretty good too, not a nice, quiet, sit down place, but still good. Kona at the Poly has great food too.

Wow, there are so many to choose from. Outside of the park, we are eating at Ohana, Whispering Canyon Cafe and Chef Mickey's. You can go the allearsnet website to see the menus and reviews from all the restaurants. Just go to the dining tab. I have to say that I also loved Boma but my DH did not.

We love Kona Cafe, it is a great place to relax and the menu has a good variety of things so everyone is happy. We like to eat there and then walk to the beach of the Poly and see the fireworks. We have this booked for our first night on the free dining plan. Yum!

Since you are doing Ohana for Character Breakfast -- don't go there for dinner. I vote for Kona -- our fav place and if you stay late enough you can watch Wishes from the beach and just walk around the tiki lit walks. Very nice. I have not been to the steak house at the Contemporary and hope to try it out sometime, but I just LOVED KONA - great food, wonderful desserts!

My vote is Spoodles on the Boardwalk. You and your family can have fun walking on the Boardwalk before or after dinner.

Other good choices would be Kona Cafe, Boma or Grand Flordian Cafe.

I agree with Boma! We absolutely LOVE it!!

1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian -- It has Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy and Perla (the mice) and Fairy Godmother. It is a fantastic buffet and what a great way to start off a trip. We like to eat here on our first night and then take a spin on the Monorail to get a view of the Castle. We've even watched the Electric Water Parade from the beach at the Grand Floridian.

With a 4-year-old, I think this would be a wonderful way to start your vacation and only use 1 Dining Credit to boot.
