Seriously, weather? Now? Just as the trees were stating to sprout their leaves?

And here I thought we were going to have one of those magical springs without snow. Silly me!

Anyone else got a healthy dose of the white stuff today?

They are saying we might get snow Friday night. Leaves are out fully, grass is green, my tulips are about done blooming, lilacs are on the bushes. Crazy weather.

My best friend also lives in Edmonton and she called me in tears this morning (she's 14 weeks pregnant and so was having bit of a "hormone moment") to ask what the weather is like here. She's visiting this weekend and wanted to make sure we have no snow in Seattle. It's her first Edmonton winter (I grew up in Calgary and so know that there's about a 50/50 chance of snow in Alberta on the May long weekend) and she was just not prepared for this. Poor thing.

I guess I should have been expecting this. But this is a good thing, we did need the moisture, and this will do all the trees good once it melts (the trees adapted to Edmonton weather anyway). Also it's pretty. Ah, gotta love it.

Sarah_Rose, I hope the weather doesn't turn her off Edmonton! These spring snow falls come quickly, but they go quick too.

The good news is I finally got my photobucket working, and I can finally start my trip report from last december (procrastination? Yes).

Twin Cities-it is only a slight chance but northern MN has a good chance.

Great deck! Too bad you can't use it.

It is a great deck! It wraps all the way around the back of the house, and there is a larger bit you can't see where our outdoor dining area is. Luckily, we haven't put out that part yet.

That's what I tried explaining to her. But she's only ever lived in Toronto so the idea of waking up to snow in May was quite a shock. I told her about brushing snow off my car in flip-flops after a freak July snow storm in Calgary one day when I was in university. I don't think I made her feel better.

Yup! Usually in August, but any old time. Keeps us on our toes.

XD I would rather live here than somewhere warm. Snow I like. Weather over 30 degrees Celsius... not so much. Ick.

For me, anything under 50 degrees farenheit is awful.
