A new Countdown.

Yiiiiiiiiiiiipppppppppppppppppiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1:

Going on Aug 25th - Aug 29th, 4 nights at the Holiday Inn, flying with Easyjet.

So far, flights and hotel is only £303.

Just need to add Airport Parking, Theme Park Tickets and the VEA bus from Airport to Hotel.

I finally managed to persuade DH last night.

What a good price you got! I am very tempted myself!

Have a fantastic time! :sunny:

Wow - that sounds wonderful!!!! ::yes::

Which airport are you flying from? You can probably save a fair amount of money by prebooking a parking space. Then you're looking at 56 euros total for the VEA journeys, and you could get the Fantasy Annual Pass for 119 euros each!!

Great news and nice to see your countdown :)

You could put your date details to the sticky at the top here :goodvibes

Great news!

That is a very reasonable price for school holidays. My DH is always difficult to persuade about most holidays/days out - but once we're there he usually really enjoys himself. I even managed to get my DH to look at DLPfoodguide last night, so even though he won't admit it I know he's looking forward to our trip!

Having a countdown makes it seem more real - I must get one for next time!

We are going from Luton, which I am pleased about as it's not too far for us to travel.
We are going to pre-book a space but so far cheapest I can find is £30, so I am still looking.
What will we gain from buying a Fantasy Annual Pass rather than just normal Park Hopper tickets?
And where can we get them from?

Hi Tink78,

Would you mind breaking that £303 down into Flights and Hotel please.

Would be interested to see the breakdown.

Thanks

Sure, the flights were Easyjet.com.
£122 for return tickets for both of us, inc, all the extras that they add on.

Hotel is £181 approx. (Holiday Inn)
Room is 63 euros's per night and the current exchange rate is about 1.45, so 63 x 4 nights = 252 euros, = approx. £174, plus there was a little tax to add to that = about £181.

Hi
Did you get that rate (63 euros per night) on the Holiday Inn site...I am getting a quote of 100 euros per night for 26th July. You have got a brilliant rate for August.

Yes, I did.
I just checked Holiday Inn website for 26th July and it's bringing up 93 euro's for 2 adults for one night.

My rate was 63 euros per night per room for 2 adults 25th-29th Aug.

Are you just looking to stay one night?

Maybe I got a good rate as I am staying 4 nights...not sure though!?

That sounds a real bargain Karen! :goodvibes
I think the rates go down at the very end of August, because the summer season ends about that time, whereas it is in full swing in July. We stayed at the Explorers last year 25th to 30th August. I think we paid about £132 a room ( a room for 6) for the first three nights and about £107 for the last two.

For an extra 6 euros each you could (depending on your flight times) get an extra 2 days in the parks!! Plus you can use it for a 10% discount in most of the restaurants.

You can buy them when you arrive at the park. You'll be given a temporary pass and then you go to the Annual Passport Office just outside the entrance to Discoveryland, to have your photo done and to change it for your proper pass.

Ah, thank you - ignore my Question on the other thread.

Thanks - you are the Queen of DLP knowledge! :grouphug:

Thank you very much!! But, trust me, there are lots of people who know a lot more than I do!! :teeth:
