Monday 26th September
We managed to get ourselves to blizzard beach in time for the opening (10am) after our customary breakfast of a cereal bar and apple juice.
We brought the refillable mug ($10) and set up camp in tykes peak, DH took the kids for a look around and I settled on my sun-bed to read some of my book…I took 5 books with me as im a fast reader and only managed to read two!
Dh brought the kids back and went off to have a go on summit plummet
No way on this earth was he getting me anywhere near it so I happily watched the kids splashing around tykes peak. I was very impressed with the set-up here - the lifeguards were very attentive and there were plenty of them.
After he returned DH decided to take the kids for a go down the lazy river- now this seemed more up my ally so I happily went along. We had great fun doing this until you get soaked with freezing cold water!
Our lunch was at lottawatta lodge! Dh had the cheeseburger meal, me and the children had the turkey sandwich and chips (crisps) as I was getting sick of burgers already and its only day 4. we asked to collect our dessert later and got that as we were leaving the park. (No total again we used 4-cs credits.
The early part of the afternoon was given over to lazing in the sun (me and dh) and messing on the water slides (dd and ds).
We left the water park early to go back to pop for a wash and change as we have a 6.10pm ADR at Ohana’s. I have heard via the restaurant board that some changes have taken place recently but we have never been before so we don’t let it put us off.
We arrive via the wdw transportation consisting of a bus from pop to the magic kingdom and then the monorail. I am feeling rather pleased with my organisation skills until the monorail grinds to a halt just before the contemporary resort
All the lights and the AC go off and we are told that there is a small technical failure and to be patient (well that was not easy I can tell you, I am NOT known for my patience) you do not realise how much you take the AC for granted until its turned off as well.
Fortunately the delay is only a few minutes and we get to Ohana’s only 5 minutes late. We are seated immediately and our server is Bernie (the same name as my mum) we order drinks DH has a Budweiser the kids have virgin strawberry daiquiri’s and I order the lapu lapu
Our wontons and wonton chips are then brought out with the dipping sauces, we favoured the peanut one! Followed by the salad and then the chicken wings and the shrimp- the chicken wings were fab. We then get some welcome hot towels, as we are very messy.
We had stir fried veggies and yummy cheese potatoes as well.
Dd then takes part in the coconut race; ds wouldn’t have a go because he was in a strop wanting beer like his dad. Bernie saves the day by bringing him his own pint of “ beer” (apple juice) I think he still believes he had beer now.
The meat skewers then arrive DH loved them all but I wasn’t keen on the sausage?
Finally Bernie brought out the new pudding a bread pudding served with banana foster sauce and ice cream very nice so no pics of that sorry.
Total bill with drinks would have been $104.85 we used 4 ts credits.
We then popped into the MK on our way back to pop to see Spectromagic and wishes.
We had seen both spectro and wishes before which is just as well because we had an awful viewing position for the parade! We moved over to the rose garden area to view wishes and had an excellent uninterrupted view; November 5th will seem very tame in comparison.
We then joined the throng heading for the buses and a trip back to pop. I found the bus service to be very good but was surprised that a lot of people let their small children take up a seat when others had to stand; I felt they could easily have sat on a lap as ours did!
