I found a memory card on the ferry coming back from The Magic Kingdom over the weekend and forgot to give it to lost and found prior to leaving.

I figured with as much traffic as this site gets it would be worth a shot to put it out there before mailing it to The Fort.

If anyone did lose one PM me and we can go from there.

Are there any pictures on it that might be identifiable? Group shot or people? Might help posting a picture from the card that someone might recognize.

maybe they have a picture of the site with a number showing and you can find out who they were and get it directly to them. i found a phone once. i dialed "mom" from it and asked who it belonged to, i then went up front and got the site number. i got the phone back to the person and they were very happy.

sorry, i know how lost and found works. you lost it, i took it and handed it in and now it is gone to disney heaven...

good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately I don't have a way to access the card so I can't view anything.

I'll end up sending it to lost and found by the end of the week.

True story. My DH lost his billfold while we were biking at FtW. I called the Fort as soon as we realized it was gone to see if it was turned in. No such luck. I kept calling for about 2 weeks and gave up. 3 MONTHS LATER, I get a call from the Fort saying the billfold had been turned in. Now, all the $$$ was gone but, all the credit cards, ID, etc were still there. They were no good by that time, but they were still there.

I know this won't help, since you have no way of reading the info ... but I thought I'd share what we do in case it might help someone else in the future (cuz I'm always paranoid of losing our camera or memory card -- or more specifically, one of my sons' cameras):

On the 1st photo of every camera memory card we have, I type in a BIG font:

if found, please return to:
name
address (po box)
cell phone #

and then I take a picture of the computer screen (or print the page with big font and take a photo of that).

It gives me a small measure of comfort, that at least if someone DOES find it and are kind enough to want to return -- they will have some info to go on.

I think I've posted elsewhere on the DIS about this, but I think this guy is hilarious. He suggests an entertaining way to help your lost/"misplaced" camera find its way home to you: Linky

True Story:

I was at WDW in 1990/91. Just inside the gate I looked over and saw a plain white envelope. I walked over and picked it up. Inside that envelope was $300-400. No name, nothing.

I'll admit, it was VERY tempting to take it and put it in my wallet. I walked on for about 10 minutes and the guilt was way too much to bear. I took it to lost and found. They took my info and said that if it was not claimed in 30 days(?) that they would contact me and I would receive the money.

At the end of that day I went to the same L&F office and inquired about the money. They said a teenager came not long after I dropped the money off and was frantic asking if anyone had found an envelope with money in it.

Of course, this could have been someone who saw me pick it up, followed me, and watched me take it to L&F. Whatever the story, it wasn't mine and I felt better by turning it in than spending it.

I would personally never put a strange memory card in my computer.

I've found over the years that the people at WDW are very honest. We've lost about 3 cameras in the past 20 years---different members of the family---and they were ALL returned to Lost and Found. Good people go to Disneyworld :yay:

you could take it to walgreens and flip through the pictures on their photo booth thing. :confused3 never know might have some info on it.

 Never know it might have some "personal" photos on it :lmao:

No way would I look at the pics.

I hope most people would have the sense to reformat the memory card prior to going on a vacation. It's very possible that the memory card might not make it to it's owner even turning it in to L&F.

What kind of card is it??
