I know this is a long shot but the battery on my house alarm is low. It keeps beeping for hours and I cannot find the user manual! It is an FBII LEGEND 70 or 80

Model 6700 or 6800 it is 18 years old and because they are doing work on my house two of the contacts were removed.( It JUST hit me tonight I could bypass those zones and still use it .....but that really has nothing to do with my question). I cannot find the user manual and this is torture.

I have gone on line and still have not been able to find it. ANYONE out there have this alarm and a user manual handy? The guy who installed it is not around anymore. We turned off the breaker but that has no bearing on it since it is the back up system.

Are you trying to figure out how to replace the battery? Can't you just take off the cover and put in a new one. They are all pretty much designed the same way, pull down the cover and put in a new 9 volt. Also, if they are 18 years old, you may want to consider having them replaced.

No I did look in the box and it is not a 9 volt it is a different kind of battery. The problem is I tried to call Honeywell but they are not there till Monday.

Do you have a company that monitors your alarm? They should sell them. If not, you might want to try some of the local alarm companies.

I work for an alarm monitoring company and we keep a stock of batteries that we sell to our monitored customers and to people who aren't monitored as well.

I read this as a SMOKE detector, not a house alarm. Can you take out the battery and bring it to a hardware store or battery store? Chances are they have a replacement.

thanks for your help.

I finally got in touch with someone who is going to bring me a battery next week. We opened the box which had not been opened since it was put in in 1992! This battery owed me nothing because it was rechargable and when I went to a website that sells them they said it lasts 3-5 years!! I just forgot about it b/c the alarm always worked. I just need to have a couple of contacts fixed due to new construction and I will be good as new. the thing is the contacts were showing the zones were open and I never realized alll I needed to do was bypass them(something I had neverused in 18 years). that must have worn down the battery so it could not recharge. Again...Who knew!

I learned something new today so not a total loss but let me tell you, the beeping all night was like water torture! Who knew you could remove the batttery !

I'm also having a problem with the battery in my alarm system. It needs to be replaced. I've looked everywhere and no one carries this battery. I talked to a guy at ACE hardware. He told me they get people in all the time wanting them. They can't get them. It seems the alarm companies buy up all the stock.

Mine is not beeping, but is a problem when the power goes out. We had a brownout the other night. When the power came on, I had to run to put in my code because the alarm was about to go off and I didn't even have it set. It is because of the low battery. So, on Monday, I will be calling the company that installed my system. They won't sell me a battery that I can pick up. I already tried that. I must make an appointment to have them come out to replace it. Service call!!!
