We are staying at the Polynesian for the first time in December, with our 10, 6, and 5 year old kids. Because they are always tired at the end of the day, I requested at time of booking to be near the TTC (to help out with Epcot trans.) and a room with a balcony so DH and I could sit out there after kids are asleep. Also, I thought that way we'd be closer to the Neverland Club so we could get back to our room quicker on the one night the kids will spend there. I did not request a specific longhouse but we have a standard view.

Did I goof? Those of you who have stayed at the Polynesian, do you have any recommendations? How long of a walk is it really from the Aotearoa side of the resort to the Neverland Club and/or the TTC?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks!

The Aeorteara longhouse is the furthest possible from the TTC. Although I dont find any of the longhouses to be a very long walk or inconveneint, some people might, especially with tired children!

I would recommend the Raratonga longhouse, which is very central, convenient to everything, it is right next to the GCH, the neverland club and pretty close to the TTC.
the longhouse is all garden view, request the side that faces the quiet pool, and you will get a nice lush tropical view (with tiki torches too! :))
the other side faces the parking lot.

Have a great trip!

Laura :)

Raratonga is the most centrally located. The closest longhouse to the TTC is Tahiti and it does have garden view rooms on one side.

I would ask for Tahiti or Rapa Nui being explicit that you don't want the parking lot side if you want to be very close to the TTC. Both buildings have balconies or patios for all rooms. Rapa Nui is actually a little closer to the TTC but they're both very close. Raratonga does not have balconies on the 2nd floor. Raratonga also has a mildew smell to me in the hallways the couple of times that I've cut through it...of course, this has been when it's pouring outside so that might be part of the problem.

Tokelau is also a good building that Tikiman recommends to people. Balconies or patios for all rooms. It is almost as close to the TTC and is closer to the GCH. All three of these buildings are very close to the Neverland Club with Tokelau the closest.

Thank you all for the info! I was beginning to think that I had made a mistake asking to be on that side of the resort...I'm feeling better now:)

Should I leave my request "as is" or should I send a fax for a specific bldg. a few days out. How do I do the fax thing? I've never done that before.
