Final impressions:
I loved the island.
The only two negatives are the long pier walk and the long tram ride.
The beach and water are amazing at the family beach and Serenity. Easily as good or better than Serenity Bay at
Castaway Cay. The sand was so soft and the water remained 4-5 feet deep for a good distance out.
There seemed to be plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Not many people used the dune side chairs and umbrellas. Those areas might be more used with the larger ships.
The BBQ was good. It has been many years since I was last in Castaway Cay so I am not sure how they compare. There was plenty of seating and the walk was not too far from the beach.
I think there is enough separation between the family and serenity areas, unless you are in a serenity cabana. Those were on the beach buffer between the two. Otherwise it was easy to put a lot of distance between you and the family beach.
It did not look like the serenity cabanas were in use this trip.
Neither was Sebastian’s Cove, the nature trail, or the bike trails as they were still under construction.
I am not sure if Mabrika Cove cabanas were open. You only see them for a little bit when walking from the pier to the tram stop. This morning the waves were rough looking at that area. I was worried it would be like that at the family/serenity beach but it was extremely calm.
I would love a 4 day that calls on both private islands.
