long weekend

it's a mother daughter weekend. ap holder rate of $89 at PORS or will i be really disappointed since we are used to staying at BCV. if i am going to be disappointed i would rather spend the extra and go to GF or BC.

Can't say if you'll be disappointed, POR is a lovely resort but certainly not in the same class as BCV. A few differences:

Double beds instead of queen
Rooms are a good bit smaller
No Stormalong Bay
No kitchenette
Motel-style with outside corridors and no balcony
Far fewer dining options than the BCV area
Can't walk or take boat to 2 theme parks - bus service only (w/boat to DTD)

If you're looking at it as, "I'm paying bargain-basement rates for POR, so of course it's going to have fewer amenities, but I'm thrilled to be saving a lot of money", you'll be fine. But if money isn't an issue and you're really not going to be comfortable without deluxe amenities, go for GF or BC. Personally, I'd be torn, too. I can put up with mods for a long weekend, if if the point of the trip is to get a cheap weekend vacation, POR would be fine. If I were in the mood for a bit more pampering, I'd do GF or BC.

thanks so much for the reply. maybe to some silly ? but we have never spent any time at disney not in a deluxe and i do not want to get there and be disappointed . i keep thinking to myself what if the posts i have read about the PORS are true and it is in real need of rehab i will want to kick myself. thanks again. making a call.
