Long wait for Magical Express??

We have used ME twice and it's the way to go! First time we took it last year, we were at CSR in less than an hour of our plane landing (that included waiting 15 minutes for ME to depart). This past trip in January, we had ridiculous luck - our flight landed 25 minutes early and arrived at 8:05 instead of 8:30am, we walked directly onto ME and immediately departed with only 2 other families on it. By 10:00am we had already checked into our room at CR, freshened up, grabbed a quick bite at Contempo Cafe, and we at MK by 10:00am! Couldn't believe our timing & luck! :cool1:

I'm not sure if this is correct or not, but it was my understanding that ME departs every 20 minutes regardless if the bus is full or not.

ME is one of my favorite parts of the trip. The excitement of riding a Mickey bus in to Disney gets your trip off on the right foot. I wouldn't trade it for a ride in a dirty cab. This is a no brainer, take the ME.

For us, DME is part of the magic. Yea, we've gone through waiting for DME buses and getting our luggage has been an advanture as well (just once), but I take solace in the fact that once I'm on the bus, I don't worry about a thing. As the Immortal Bob Marley, once crooned, "Every lil' thing is gonne be alright!!!!!"

What day of the week are you arriving? On our first trip we arrived on a Thursday around 9:30am and walked right on a bus. We were at our resort in about 50 mins after getting off the plane. Our second trip, we arrived on a Saturday around 10am and it was very busy. We had to wait in line through one bus and got on a second one. Took about 2 hours from getting off the bus to getting to the resort. So it can depend.

I agree with the others that you will not be gaining anything by taking a cab. If anything, you'd just lose $40+ and have to hassle with your own bags.

I would not pay for a taxi. ME has taken us usually around an hour. One time we got right on the bus but it sat FOREVER waiting for more people. That was kind of annoying since we had two very excited little boys who were getting very impatient. :)

We never check bags and we always bring them to our room ourselves.

We had Disney deliver our bags twice and both times, both times one of our bags did not make it it to our room before midnight (when our plane had gotten in around 3pm). In one case, they had mis-delivered our bags not only to the wrong room, but the wrong resort. They then had to wake up the people who had gotten our bag (but did not report it) who resisted letting them in, then finally delivered it to us. The bellman made us open the bag to make sure nothing had been stolen (nothing was, thankfully). Not a good start to our vacation. Never again.

Having taken ME three times (always had our bags with us as we don't get the tags in the UK) Its a great service. Last year we were about 1 1/2 from landing to check in.

I love seeing the video and having the bus driver welcome you to WDW when you pass the big sign :goodvibes I also enjoy listening to all the people who you can tell its their first trip and they are so excited.

Its a great service and I think like alot of the pps have said that it just adds to the anticipation of your trip. I would miss it if we did not take it.

They play cartoons on screens at the waitin area so it keeps you entertained before you get on the bus.

The ride home sucks and I have to bite my lip to stop myself from crying at the video. DH just gives me :confused3 look.
