I've been to Disney World over a dozen times, but haven't been to Disneyland since I was 3 years old. I'll be in LA for a convention in a few weeks, and am taking Friday evening May 16 to visit Disneyland.

Any suggestions as to what someone who knows Disney World inside out should be sure to see and do in such a short time?

I recently went to WDW for my first time after being a regular at Disneyland for over 40 years. What I did was go on rides that weren't offered at Disneyland first of all, and then I went on rides that were similar, but somehow a little different. I didn't go on the things that I knew were the exact same thing after learning what the rides were like from sites like this. My suggestion to you would be to try the same thing at Disneyland that I did at WDW. There are a lot of rides packed into a tiny space at Disneyland, so you'll find it much easier to get around.

MUST MUST ride POTC!! SOOOOO much better at DL.

Also, ride Storybook Land.

Hi there - look up at the sticky threads at the top of the board. There is one that compares WDW & DLR rides by me, and a great thready by Hydroguy on visiting DLR for WDW vets - a lot of good info there. :)

I second POTC, and add Indiana Jones and Space Mountain. The Space Mountain at DL is soooo much smoother than at WDW. Also, we have Mr. Toad's Wild Ride at DL if you want to ride it, and the Matterhorn! And Nemo!

Indiana Jones is a must do; take a little time to check out the qeue. POTC and HM are awesome at WDW but uber awesome at DL!

Don't rush so much that you can't soak in the atmosphere a bit. DL is so charming; it has a much different feel than MK/WDW.

Enjoy!

like everyone says Indy and Materhorn(a little white mountain you see in the distance)

your will ride much more rides than at wdw in 1 day

with your amount of time and ticket can you park hop???? if so then i'd hit dlr in the morning and the hop to dca and close at dlr. and check out hydroguys sticky. i have read several of his articles and they are top notch.
