Long Term car Hire

hello everyone, just came across this site - looks good. Can anyone help me with a question about long term car hire?

I am flying into Miami on 11th March 2012 and intending to stay in Florida for around 3 months travelling around and I obviously need a car.

Renting by the week from the usual car hire companies looks out expensive. I've tried negotiating with them over the phone but they just quote the weekly price multiplied by how many weeks I'm staying and won't give any discount for such a long booking.

Does anyone know of a cheaperbetter option?

Done a bit of Googling, suggestions say max rental you can do is 30 days, beyond that is a lease so you have to re-sign the contract every 30 days.
Never rented more than 25 days myself so can't help sorry. Good luck.
