My teenage daughter and I are planning a 10 day trip in June 2010. We have tried the both the DDP and the DxDP and loved them both for different reasons. This time she has made it clear to me that she doesn't want to spend a lot of time in restaurants. So... I'm thinking about doing the QSSP this time. Just because I like everything paid for up front. However, I'm thinking that 10 days of CS meals will get old fast. But, I don't want to make ADR's that I know I won't keep. If we decide that we want to have a nice sit down meal one day, how hard would it be to get a table at a Downtown Disney restaurant? Do those restaurants require 6 months ADR's?

It is free dining right now and my DH and I are going as 2 adults (so a similar situation to you and your daughter). Even at the restaurants that participate in the DDP, there are openings during the first part of our vacation (I was looking for September 5-7, so 11-13 days from now), as long as we were willing to eat dinner late (after 8:30 pm). I mean, I was offered Narcoossee's, Cítricos, Grand Floridian Café, Kona, The Wave ... all at monorail resorts .

You won't be there during free dining, and most of the restaurants at DTD don't take the dining plan anyway. I'd bet that if you're willing to be flexible about where you eat, you won't have trouble finding a sit-down mean *somewhere*. Your best bet is probably to call in the morning or the day before rather than walking up (I've heard they can no longer take reservations with less than 2-3 hours notice).
