Long shot I know.....

I know this is a long shot, but thought I would ask. I see that some people have extra GAD passes that you can not use, or are not going this year afterall. My husband and I have annual passes and are taking my nephew (18 months) in November. My sister is wanting to join us for a couple of days but can not find a way to afford tickets. She is a single mother who is currently unemployed. When we planned the trip I would have picked up the tickets for her but my DH lost his job this summer. If you can not use them anyway, would you consider letting my sister use them so that she can join in for a couple of her son's first days at Disney?

Like I said, I know it is a long shot. She thought that she would to the GAD program but we just found out that it ended.

I think you will be out of luck on this one. The vouchers that you print out come with the GAD participants name on them and you must show ID to redeem them. They are also i beleive only good the day of redemption. Sorry.

Rats! Trying to find a way to spread the magic... I didn't look into the program myself when it was announced because I couldn't use it. I told her about it but then she told me it was over. Guess I just have to keep trying...

PP is correct - GAD vouchers are non-transferrable, and ID must be shown (even for children) for them to be redeemed. They are good only on the date redeemed, and they are only valid once for each person even if they volunteered several times.

Undercover Tourist has slightly lower ticket prices than Disney's gate prices, and if you click on the link in the Mousesavers.com newsletter, it is slightly cheaper still. Some people sell on ebay or Craigslist to raise money for Disney, but if she is unemployed, she has probably done that just to pay the bills and would probably not want to spend $200 on Disney tickets at this time. Just a thought, though.

Hope her job situation improves before the trip and she is able to go!

There is not a way for you to "spread the magic" by using someone else's GAD. Anyone who is not going to use their GAD can have it donated to a recognized agency like the Boys and Girls club. There is not an option for anyone to give their tickets to you. As other have suggested you can buy slightly discounted tickets from Undercover tourist.

Just a thought....could you find a few friends, like 10, that could chip in a few dollars each to help cover the cost of the ticket?

And sadly we have a voucher we won't be able to use now. My grandson was planning on going on a big family reunion with us in two weeks and he just found out that he was nominated for a full scholarship and the interview process is the weekend of our cruise. Since it requires his birth certificate there's really nothing we can do with it now. Too late to donate it.
