I know this is probably a long shot but I just wondered if anybody worked for a company or organisation who run a flexible resourcing/deployment programme.

I started my new job yesterday and my task is to set up a pilot for flexible resourcing in 3 key areas. However, apart from some background papers, I ave no idea ow it should work or what is involved. I really do't want to have to go back to my boss and ask loads of questions so thought I'd try and use my initiative (ie ask everyone here :rotfl: ). So, anyone know anything about it???

PS If this post doesn't read right it's because my 'h' is not working properly :)

soory Joh, I cant help, but good luck. I hope that somebody can. Is the new job going ok so far ??

I can't help either although I'm sure someone will be able to:goodvibes

Hope everything is going well with the new job:thumbsup2

Sorry Joh I can't help either, we're all being a bit useless so far aren't we :rolleyes1 just want to wish you well in your new job :goodvibes

Please explain more Joh, do you mean people being flexible? Staff or freelancers?

The theory is that staff who work in different business areas may be drawn upon to work on a particular project or task, without having to physically change job or line management. Work packages would be put together, submitted to a task manager who would choose the most suitable people to complete the task and they would then work together (although not necessarily in the same location) to complete the task.

I know it happens a lot in other government departments - just wondered if it happened in the private sector and if anyone had any experience.

I will send you a PM tomorrow Joh as I'm off home now.

Remind me if I forget.
