Sorry it took so long to do a Dining Review. But here’s where we at & what we thought from our 4/15 – 4/24 trip…..

4/16:
Breakfast – Fountainview Café Rating- B
We aren’t big breakfast eaters. Fruit Croissant & Coconut Flan we had were both good
Lunch – Matsanoma Lounge – Rating B
We usually do Tempura Kiku once a trip. Less wait for the Lounge. We had a Sushi Sampler, Veggie Tempura & Tempura Carrots. Tempura was a little greasier than I remember. The big hit for me was the Momo (an orange, peach & cream smoothie type drink)
Dinner- Wolfgang Puck’s Express West Side Rating-B
I wasn’t very hungry so all I had was a kids grilled cheese. Max had a Margherita Pizza. Pizza was very good.

4/17
Lunch – Kona Café Rating- A
Since we skipped breakfast, we had a HUGE lunch – too big. Split the Sticky Wings, I had Kona Chowder & Crab Cakes. Max had the Misoyaki Chicken Lunch plate. We split a Banana Crème Brulee. Everything was delicious & the service was very attentive. If anything, too attentive as our server was training someone.
Dinner – Artist Point Rating A+
Too bad I ate such heavy food at lunch. We stuck to just entrees for dinner, thus missing out on some real treats. I had the Buffalo Steak (as always). Max had the Ceder Planked Salmon (as usual). AP is one of our favorite WDW restaurants & as always, it didn’t disappoint. The Buffalo was cooked perfectly & fork tender. The Salmon was cooked a perfect medium rare & was sweet & flaky. Our server was truly a delight. He was attentive, but not overly so and absolutely charming. He looked younger than my 16 yo son, but was very professional.

4/18
Lunch – Tusker House Rating – A
Once again, we skipped breakfast. Tusker is one of my favorite counter service places.
I had the Rotisserie Chicken and Max had the Fried Chicken Sandwich.
Dinner – Ohanas Rating – B
My 16 yo loves Grilled Meats, so Ohana is a must for him. It’s a solid meal. For me, not outstanding, but not bad either. I love the green beans & salad. The coconut-pineapple bread was very nice. The Turkey is always my favorite of the meats. Neither Max nor I do the shrimp. (I hate peeling my own) The beef, turkey & pork were all good as long as you had chunks from the center of the skewer, The far end pieces seemed dry & over-cooked. Max finished his meal off with Coconut Pineapple Bread Pudding which was very tasty.

4/19
Breakfast- ABC Commisary Rating – C
Long, slow moving lines. I had a child’s scrambled egg plate. Max had a biscuit. It did in a pinch. I wouldn’t do it again tho.
Lunch – Cabana Bar & Grill Rating- B
DH arrived right at noon. We each had smoothies (Raspberry, Mango & Pina Colada) The Mango was outstanding. I had a Cuban. Max & Gary had cheeseburgers. The burgers were the best we’ve had in WDW. The Cuban was ok, nothing special. If we stuck to burgers, it would have been an A.
Dinner- Teppenyaki Rating – A
Another one of our favorites. We had a Sushi sampler to start. Momos all around. Max had Shrimp & Scallops. Gary & I both had steak & lobster. Food was great. Service attentive & our Chef was very entertaining.

4/20
Breakfast – Boardwalk Bakery Rating – B
DH had a breakfast burrito which he didn’t like and a Bowtie which he LOVED. DS & I each had a breakfast sandwich which was ok in a pinch, but nothing special. Next time, I will stick to pastries there.
Lunch – Le Cellier Rating – B+
I had the Cheese soup. Max had the Cheese plate. Gary was going to share my soup but he didn’t like it. (weird, I know) I had the beef tenderloin salad. Max had the petite filet & Gary had the prime rib sandwich. Everything was very good. Server was nice, but there was one minor glitch in that a wrong entrée was brought out to me. It was quickly corrected tho.
Dinner – Wolfgang Puck’s Bar Rating - A
Max had a Sushi Sampler. I had his Miso Soup & some of his edamame & California Roll. I also had a Veggie Roll. He loved his Sushi. I especially like Puck’s version of the California Roll. Bartender was our server & he was great given how extremely busy he was.

4/21
Brunch – Fresh Rating – A+
Wow! If I was a Breakfast eater, I’d eat here everyday! Just as the name implies, everything was Fresh & tasty. I especially enjoyed all the Fresh Fruit blend drinks. I sampled all of them & couldn’t choose a favorite. Everything we tasted was delicious. Service was great. Atmosphere delightful. We will definitely return here many times. It is our new favorite for breakfast, replacing Spoodles as our former favorite brunch place.
Lunch – Mara Rating – B-
To be fair, we didn’t really lunch, it was more like a quick munch. The 3 of us split a Tandoori chicken pizza (one slice each, 2 for the teen) a package of Zebra Domes/Chocolate Mousse Crunches & a Mango Smoothie
Dinner – 50’s Prime Time Café Rating – B
Decent Comfort Food. Great Fun Atmosphere. Good server, but not as playful as I would have liked. I like my comfort food better, so it’s hard to compare restaurant versions of good down home cookin’. We split the onion rings. They were delicious. Max had the Pork Tenderloin, Gary had the Fried Chicken & I had the Pot Roast. Max joined the Triple Clean Plate Club as he not only finished his meal, but Gary’s & mine as well.

4/22
Breakfast – Tusker House Rating – D
I was on my own for breakfast. I had biscuits & sausage gravy. It was pasty & congealed. I would not order that again.
Lunch – Tusker House Rating A / Tangerine Café Rating A
The boys both had Fried Chicken Sandwiches at Tusker. Good as always. I waited & ate at Tangerine later. I had a Tabbouleh Wrap. Tangerine Café is my favorite counter service in WDW. The wrap was tasty as always, would have liked more tabbouleh on it. The cous cous & lentils which came with it were very nice.
Dinner – Boma – Rating B
Boma is a nice place, for a buffet. I like the different flavors you can sample. The Prime Rib was tough (unusual). And our server was not very good. Granted it was very busy, but still, she was pretty horrible. It brought the overall rating down. We will eat there again, I’m sure.

4/23
Breakfast – Mara Rating B
Just Bagels & fruit. Nothing fancy. We were in a rush for our KTTK tour at MK.
Lunch – Columbia Harbour House Rating – A
Another one of my favorite CS locations. Gary & I had the Tuna Sandwich. Best Tuna sandwich on the planet, IMHO. Max had the chicken fingers which he said were good, but not great.
Dinner – California Grill Rating A++
Max chose this for my Birthday Dinner. I am so glad he did. It was perfect. .We all split the Cheese Flatbread. Max had the Sushi Sampler. I had the Beets 2 ways with Goat Cheese & Dried Cherry Vinaigrette. Gary & Lisa each had the Colossal Asparagus with cheese & a nut vinaigrette of some sort (can’t recall exactly) We each had the Filet. Gary had ordered a Birthday Cake, which was a delicious chocolate cake. Max got a cheese plate to go. Everything was outstanding. Max said the sushi was the best of the trip. All of our filets were done to perfection & fork tender. The asparagus & beets were amazing. Our server was perfectly attentive & professional. Our view was heavenly. I just can’t say enough about this meal. It was extraordinary. Also of note, this meal alone paid for my DDE card in savings. We will definitely be eating here again and again.

4/24
Brunch – Boma Rating – A
Check out day. Boma is great for brunch. It’s too big for me to do for breakfast, but everything is fresh & tasty. We all really loved the Frunch. Of special note, the Quinoa porridge. Very tasty.

Thanks for the awesome reviews. I think I will put the Wolfgang Puck's Bar on our list. We both love sushi.

Thanks for the reviews. I'm going to have to add Fresh to the "must do" list.

Leota,

Forget the long overdue stuff! We just want reviews, especially the detailed kind like yours! Thanks for taking the time to post.

Your choices sounded good to me! :goodvibes

What do you think makes the tuna so special at Columbia Harbour House? I have only had the salad and it was quite good. We will be returning in November and making a stop here.

I am so glad you had a specially magic dinner at California Grill for the birthday celebration. That is another place we have to get to!

Thanks again,
penny

You know, I have no idea what makes it so good! It's fresh, white albacore, which I use at home. It's served on a nice whole grain bread, which I use at home. But for some reason, it's just an outstanding tuna sandwich! lol Even the CM from the KTTK Tour was commenting on it being the best Tuna ever, again, having no idea why...... All I know is that every WDW trip, it's a must do for me.

Great reviews. I totally agree with you on Tangerine Cafe, it is one of our favorites.

I wonder if it's the same as the tuna sandwich at the Gasparilla Grill. Best tuna I ever had. Kind of sweet?

WOW! Thanks for such detailed reviews. I really enjoyed reading them. :) I will remember some of those reviews for my next trips.
