Hello, I am so excited!!! We had to change our reservations from the end of Sept. to Aug 27 - Sept 4. We have been to Disney 5 other times but never in August. This is also our first time staying at Pop. I' m hoping since it is the end of August it wont be so busy but I don't know. Can anyone let me know what to expect regarding lines and weather? Thank you so much for any information you have :dance3:

That's the week we were there last year. We arrived at park opening everyday and the rides were walk on for the first two hours. It got busier the closer we got to Labor Day weekend though.

My family's vacation time to Orlando for years was the last week in August and the crowds were always few. I am guessing it's because kids are getting ready to get back to school. One of the best weeks of the summer IMO.

we are here now and the lines are not bad in the morning. We have been getting to the parks just as they open. We are not doing the emh park, though. We pick a different one because people say those parks are very crowded. We get to the park at opening and the lines are maybe 10 minutes long, some rides have no lines. But starting about noon the lines go quickly up to 40 or 50 minutes. Use fast pass, it really helps a lot.

The weather has been very hot and humid. Some rain, but not for too long.

We're having a great time.

Hi
We just got back last night 8/22, and we stayed at Pop. We had a great time at Pop. My DGD 3 1/2 loved it. The parks were pretty crowded in the afternoon. We went early when they opened and walked onto every ride in Fantasyland. No wait. It was great. But by the afternoon, it was really crowded. Just use fast passes all the time. MGM was the most crowded park when we were there. The weather wasn't too hot at all the first few days, since it wasn't really sunny, but the last couple of days it was so hot and humid. The sun was out really bright and my water mister didn't even make a big difference. Hopefully more schools will be starting when you go and it won't be as crowded. The best advice I can give you is just go as soon and the parks open, or use an EMH for the AM.

We normally go at the end of August just for the fact it is less crowded because of the kids back to school. We leave on Monday and cannot wait. :)

We just got back yesterday - after 3 weeks. The 2nd two weeks were definitely quieter (after the Florida schools went back). However, it really makes a big difference to get to the parks early, plan your day, and use fastpasses. We never waited longer than 15 mins but were always at the parks as they opened and left early pm when the crowds were really building.

Oh, and if I'm allowed to mention 'the other place' :confused3 the lines in IOA and Universal were even shorter in the first few hours - especially away from Marvel land.

i'm leaving on monday and i'm hoping the crowds thin out a bit. i've been a bit nervous due to all the posts about the awful crowds, but i'm staying positive. i'm just happy to be anywhere but at work!!! i also plan on getting to the parks early and getting back to the resort by the afternoon. hope you all enjoy!

Today we went to MGM Studios and there were very few lines. We only had to wait 10 minutes for Rockin Roller Coaster at 9:30, and about 15 for Tower of Terror at about 10:00. We watched the muppet movie with no wait, and watched the Lights Motor Action Stunt Show with no wait. We rode Star Tours about 1:30 and waited about 15 minutes. Thats about all we did, but the streets were not packed with people. The longest line today was for the pretzel & fruit place on Sunset Blvd. Other than that you could walk up to the carts and buy things no waiting. Even for ice cream.

thanks so much to everyone for the replys :goodvibes We will be sure to get to the parks when they open and go back to the hotel in the afternoon for a dip. We have 8 days in Disney this time so we wont feel so rushed and that we have to spend every minute in the parks. I can hardly wait. Thanks again for the tips.
