Long gone restaurants

Are there any restaurants that no longer exist?? Rides get closed down but do the dining establishments?

There was a Mexican buffet on the 4th floor of the Contemorary.

Ariel's, the seafood restaurant in the Beach Club.

Oddessy in Epcot had wonderful hamburgers.

Le Petit Cafe, the sidewalk cafe in France which was enclosed and merged into Chef's.

The Italian restaurant in the Grand Floridian where Citrico's now is.

I remember when CM was at DTD. It was a sit down restaurant with a menu and the jest of it was Mickey was in the kitchen cooking and Minnie was the hostess, both characters would come around to the tables and greet the kids.

There was a great restaurant at the Disney Inn before it was turned into Shades of Green, but I forgot its name.

Another one I just thought of... Remember the Character breakfast that was on the Miss Lilly? It featured Minnie Mouse. It actually may have been the very first "Character Breakfast" at WDW. It was the first one for my family way back in 1983 . Has the Goof would say "gaush"

I think it was "Minnie's Kitchen" that was located where WGP Express is now. I was also going to mention Odyssey and the old location of Chef Mickey's. One of the main things is that the restaurants change...like Liberty Tree Tavern now has character meals, H&V and Crytal Palace used to be cafeteria style, Biergarten used to be TS instead of buffet...I could go on and on.

Soundstage at MGM. Catwalk was above it. Now Bear in Big Blue House.

We loved it here because it was a Character Meal at all meals. First time we went we met about 6 characters including Beauty and the Beast in formal clothing. Second time we met again 6 or so including Genie and Jafar for the first time ever, then after we ate we were invited upstairs for a private meeting with Aladdin and Jasmine. Last time we went there were so many characters and being we purposely got the last seating we ended up with about 4-5 characters SITTING at our table and interacting. Met John Ratcliff, Meeko, Quasimodo........

We thought it was the best character interaction and miss going !

What was the Oscar Meyer-sponsored restaurant in MK? I remember eating there several times as a kid.

I don't know if the name was the same but the Oscar Meyer themed restaurant was at the Crystal Palace. There was even a little person as Oscar Meyer.

Also there, on the Empress Lilly was the Fishermans Quarters for seafood, the Steermans Quarters for beef and the Empress Room, which was the really fancy dining room. If you had leftovers they'd be wrapped in foil and shaped like a swan.
Who remembers Handwiches? You could get them at the Lunching Pad in Tomorrowland and also at Old Port Royale at CBR.

I remember having a character breakfast in 1988 on the steamboat that is currently Fultons in DTD. Mickey and the gang were there. Pluto attacked my dad and we caught it all on video! It is one of my favorite memories!

How about when Tony's Towne Square was BBQ and the Crystal Palace was a buffetteria. How about when Cape May Cafe had a buffet lunch and the Yachtsman Steakhouse served breakfast.

When we were at Disney last Ariel's was hosting a wedding - so I guess it still operates, just not as a public restaurant.

I remember drinking fruit punch and eating teriyaki chicken from the Adventureland Verandah on New Year's Eve 1977! Of course I never imagined back then that the smell of teriyaki sauce and the color combinations of light blue, orange and brown would evoke such heart-felt memories nearly 30 years later...
