I usually use the PC long distance cards, but the calls have to originate in Canada or the US. Does anyone have a suggestion for a long distance calling card for use from Europe - specifically Portugal, Spain and Gibraltar? We are doing the EBTA next week and would like to call back occasionally, but not be charged and arm and a leg. Also, what stores would carry such a card? Are the rates as good as the PC cards (i.e. ~4 cents per minute)?

When our DS was in Europe last year he just bought a calling card once there..he had no trouble finding one..and it didn't cost him much at all.

Hi!

Just wanted to say hi, I am also sailing next week on the EBTA :thumbsup2 PC also has an international card, but I'm not sure what the rate is. I'll try to remember to check it out at work tomorrow.

The PC cards - even the international ones - the calls must originate in either the US or Canada - they cannot be used to call back to Canada or the US.

When I was in the USA last week I picked up an AT&T prepaid long distance phone card. You're supposed to be able to use it in most countries via the "AT&T USA Direct" service. The card I got told me calls were 8 cents per minute for calls from Canada or the US to Europe (e.g. UK or Switzerland)...not sure what the price would be from Europe back to Canada or the US.

Best thing I like about this card is that it never expires (unlike all the Canadian cards I've seen, that expire 3-6 months after first use).
