Long bus lines at value resorts.

We've had waits for a specific park of 30 minutes at POP a few times but its not the norm. Usually its not the line thats the problem but rather lack of buses. At worst the line may take 2 buses when going to the popular park in the morning. Lines to return to POP have been worse, mainly at park closing at MK or EP but still not bad in most cases.

I'm more concerned with our 1st trip to CBR. The buses circle the resort so if you're near the last stop I'd expect the bus to often be filled and have to wait awhile for another to the park we want to go. POP buses seemed efficient with long waits seldom.

We've had great bus service at CBR. And we're always there during Free Dining when the resort is at capacity. During the morning rush they send 2 buses for each park. One bus picks up at 3 stops and the other one picks up the other 4. Even before they started doing this we never weren't able to get on a bus. Nor did we ever leave guests behind because of a full bus.

So my point is bus service at WDW is terrible everywhere!

Have to disagree. We took our daughter-in-law for her first trip (she was proposed to on that trip) and stayed at Fort Wilderness Cabins which people will say has horrible transportation. She had lived in just one small town (smaller than Disney World) her entire life and was not used to "big city" things. My son and us had lived all over the country so it was interesting to see her reaction to Disney World. We stayed six days and at the end of the time, without her knowing that much about Disney World (she knew she was going, my son had told her about things and she was prepared but thought it was like Cedar Point), she successfully planned the last day with my son and her daughter and they visited all four parks and did the last things on their "to do" list. On the way back, she was amazed that some people thought the transportation was bad. She said it was so easy compared to what she needed to do in her small city.

I've only stayed at Pop once but our experience wasn't so much waiting for buses in the morning, but after the park closed. We had long waits after illuminations and Fantasmic. We drove to MK because we were tired of waiting at the bus stop in the evening with sleeping children.

I've found this too--we waited in a long line (I'm thinking it was 45-60 minutes) since the first bus that came was completely full and we had to wait for the 2nd when MK closed once. We had a similar wait in the pouring rain in Downtown Disney (Disney Springs). This wasn't due to a full bus, it just seemed like forever before a POP bus came and unfortunately, the POP bus stop down there is not covered. If you have access to a car, I would plan on driving to any park you're staying at until closing or to Downtown Disney.

We've stayed at AllStarMusic 3 times, AllStarSports once, Pop once, POR twice, S/D 4 times and Board Walk 6 times and by far, the bus transportation from the values beat all the rest. You'll catch a bad day at any of them but if transport is the main consideration, go cheap.

That's nice that you had a good experience. We've been 4 times in 5 years and found the bus service to be slow. A 55 minute wait for a bus more than once is unacceptable. Bus service was much better on our 2007, 2008, 2010, trips.

The only sizeable line I saw at Pop during our stay was one evening to Disney Springs, there was a large group of teens ahead of us. One bus came, they packed in a lot of folks, and then within 5 minutes another bus came and off we went. As others have said, I like the orderly line process at Values. I do not like just standing around in a group and when a bus comes people run over to it. I am a believer in first come, first served.

In all my trips (yeah, lots of them) honestly, we've found at Pop (the only value resort I've stayed at) the bus system was far superior.

Yes, you have the further bus stop to walk to when going back from a park. But, it's not that far really!

Going to a park, we've never waited long at all. I've never had to wait for a second bus also.

Coming back, if it's busy we just choose AOA or Pop.

DD is in a wheelchair, but that makes little difference.

From another thread of mine, but it sounds like the Diser was exaggerating a little bit. At least I hope.

You'll be fine.

2,880 rooms; 3 people to a room (some 4 but some King) x 80% occupancy rate.

6,912; divided by 6 parks, could do 8 or 9 to account for water parks, DS, WWOS and "resort" days but we're doing worst case scenarios.

1152 people going to MK on any given day in the summer.

So, take that into half hour increments from 8:30 AM to 11 AM.

192 people; would fit into 6 buses per half hour at 35 people per bus.

So, roughly 1 bus every 5 minutes would mean you would need to wait at max 10 minutes. Now, if the bus is running slow you may have to wait.

So at any given time there are not 500 people waiting in line.

Math is a beautiful thing.
