Anyone know of way to get from Long Beach Airport to Disneyland without needing carseats? I have 2 boys, 4 year old (34 pds) and 19 month old (27 pds). I think you need carseats for a taxi (is that right?), what about with the shuttles???
Thanks
PS we don't want to rent a car as we are staying within walking distance and are not planning on going anywhere else.

Pretty sure you'll need a car seat no matter what since it's 20 miles away. That means you'll have to take a taxi or rent a car or even a shuttle in order to get there

Disneyland Express does not go to Long Beach.

We are having the same problems with transport from LGB. We have a 4 and 6 yr. old and both need booster seats so we will be schlepping them on the plane with us. Whether we choose a taxi, shuttle or rental car - we still have to bring them.

I won't rent car seats - no idea what kind of condition they are in! :scared1:

I will chime in with my favorite way from LGB. It is a black limo driven by an old local. His rates are about the same as a shuttle and it is a high class experience! His name is Harold and his company is haroldsmulti-passengervanservice.com/index.html. You do not need boosters and better yet he is right there when your bags come off the line! Give him a call and tell him his fan in seattle said Hi! We are using him next month for our family! Best of luck!

we went on primetime shuttle last year with DD3.5 and I hadn't even thought about the need for a carseat, so we didn't have one. The shuttle driver didn't say anything, we just put her in the seatbelt. But I think I would be nervous traveling with the little one without a carseat. We're planning to go in September with both DDs and the little one will turn 3 during the trip. I've been thinking a lot about transportation options also. not sure what to tell you... you could bring your own and check it with your luggage and then just store it in the closet at the hotel. It's a pain to carry it through the airport, but if you have a stroller, maybe you can use that somehow to push around the stroller.

ETA: We flew into SNA

I'm new here but have spent days reading all the great info. We currently have SuperShuttle scheduled but saw your note about Harold. I asked for a quote and it was quite a bit more than the shuttle. Is he flexible in price? I'm fine paying a bit more, but not a ton.

Also, is the limo a newer model or is it old? We're leaving for DLR next week and are so excited!

Thanks for any info you can add!

I just got my quote from Harold and we're using him for our drive to and from the airport; only $75 each way! Good deal :)

We went twice last year and were worried about carseats for our 3 and 4 yr old.
The first trip we rented a van because we were going to San Diego so we needed the carseats. My DH installed them on the plane and it was a pain.

Our next trip we used super shuttle and decided the kids didn't need them for the plane so we checked them with our luggage in a plastic bag, which didn't count as a bag, I believe. The other thing that I learned about while reading on here is that you can take your stroller right up to the plane with you and gate-check it and it will be ready as soon as you get off. This was a lifesaver in the airport, my kids are slow walkers and it made getting to the gates easier.

We thought about skipping the carseats altogether but once we drove a block with our shuttle driver we were glad we brought them.:)

Becky,
I am not sure how old his limo is but it is very nice and our kids love it. He has it stocked with snacks and drinks when you get in too. This is a nice addition that the shuttles do not have. I know that the limos sometimes have to pay airport fees so maybe that is why it seemed higher then the shuttle. I just know for our family it always prices the same as super shuttle and has a few more perks...like my girls thinking they are rockstars! LOL He seems like the type of guy that would work with you if it is out of your budget but I don't know. Good luck!!
