London to DLP by Train Help

Just looking for a little help with trains.

If you've seen my pre trip report, you know that I'm going to be traveling from London to DLP on Tuesday Nov 29, the earlier the better. I've checked Eurostar and for our dates there is not a direct option and it has us arriving much later than I'd like.






So I'm assuming our best bet is to go the Paris Gare du Nord station and then transfer to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy. Does this seem like the best option for those of you who know what you're doing? Also I can't even find a website selling train tickets from Gare du Nord to Marne-la-Vallée/Chessy. Do I just purchase those tickets when I arrive? Do they sell out? Does that route have trains very often?

At this point any help would be appreciate.

The train is the subway, RER. It doesn't sell out and you can get them upon arrival.

I am not familiar with Eurostar, but in the international train from Amsterdam to Paris, they also sell subway tickets on board.

It is a pity there is no direct train. With the subway you have a transfer at chatelet les halles and that one stop between gare du nord and chatelet les halles can be incredibly busy. Especially during rush hour.

It's no big deal at all - you'll come off the Eurostar and head downstairs to the RER! You can't miss the ticket booths - you can set them to English, pay with cash or card, and there will be staff on hand to help if you get stuck! No worries about it selling out, it is a commuter train.

I think it's much more efficient to do it this way.

Beware that 0600 train - you'll need to arrive at St Pancras around 0500! Make sure to check that your commute from your London accommodation to St Pancras isn't too far away, you'll be dead men walking by fireworks time!

Have you checked no transfers at Lille? If not I really reccomed as above. Don't forget to download and use citymapper (screen shot).

It will tell you what entrance, how long to what prices etc. Much easier to use and will alert when you need to get off.

It's a godsend if they go on strike too (which they often do) .

Is rush hour typically over by 10 am? There is a train that leaves at 7:01 and arrives a bit past 10. I'd be willing to give up an hour if there will be lots less congestion.

Great, it takes about an hour. Most commuter traffic is going against you. So you should not have a problem. It will be busy for 20 minutes then get alot quieter as you go. I'd try and get as much out of the day as possible .

Yes, you have to arrive 45 minutes to an hour prior to your departure time!
