I have no experience of the lastminute.com website to offer I'm afraid, but as frequent vistors to London ie 10 times plus per year we have always, without fail, picked up tickets for same day Westend show from either the actual theatre Box Office, they are all pity much next to each other, or from one of the various Ticket Offices in and around Leicester square etc.

Only very recently we travelled down to London on a Saturday and ended up staying over. We managed to get 4th row tickets to see Dirty Dancing from the Theatre Box Office.

London is fantastic, enjoy

This is all the right advice.

When we lived in London, we would call the theater and ask them when their box office opened in the morning. If it was 09:00, we'd get there at 08:30 and always got tickets for £25 or less. They keep a set amount back for sale on the day, which is normally at least 100 or so seats.

If you do not fancy this and are going to try Leicester Square, then make sure you only buy tickets from the company in the middle called TKTS. This is the only official ticket office. The others all end up costing more than at the theater box office, despite what they might advertise on the walls

Ive used last minute before and found them to be very good, sometimes very cheap and sometimes just average, but they are worth a look.

A good website for cheap deals is vouchercodes.co.uk, they have all sorts of vouchers for places in the UK but roughly once every two weeks they have discounted west end tickets.

At the moment they have Sister Act buy one get one free. Im not sure what shows your looking into but this could be a possibility.

What show are you thinking about seeing? I can recommend Dirty Dancing and the Lion King

We are looking at The Lion King or Wicked. Lastminute.com had great prices for The Lion King and I just wanted to make sure that it was a reliable source for tickets before we made a purchase.

You can buy tickets for Wicked from the box office on the day of the performance. They release the front row seats on the day of the performance, but they don't have that many of them. http://www.theatremonkey.co.uk has good information such as when and where to buy tickets, prices, seating plans, ratings for individual seats etc.

How about the Telegraph Box Office? Any comments? I've found a good price for Oliver! tickets on their site.
