Hello everyone, I'm going on a last minute trip to London next weekend and I would really love to see a musical with him on the Saturday night, can you recomend anywhere to buy tickets on the day/on the web (see/ticketmaster don't have any good seats left).

I'm really scared about getting them off touts!

Thank you!

What are you going to see? Some shows do matinees have you tried for that?

Hi, thanks for replying would like to see the one of the big ones - Phantom, The Lion King or Wicked I think. There are tickets for matinees but I would prefer to go in the evening as we want to go to a couple of museums on saturday.

Have you looked on ebay? I have bought & sold tickets before, providing they have a high feedback rating then I would think you will be ok.

The only other thing is to pop into the theatre on the day but I think you will have a pretty poor selection of seats if any at all. Good luck.

Thansk yes there a couple on ebay I am looking at, might just go for a really nice meal instead!

There's a place in Leicester Square tube station that sells last minute tickets - try there. I managed to get last minute lord of the rings tickets but there were quite a few others available - Wicked, Avenue Q etc. For Mamma Mia, which I really wanted to see, I paid full price on ticket master well in advance.

theres a returns booth in covent garden too, they only take cash for the tickets though so be prepared.

some times the best deal is to go to the theater and ask at the box office they offer discounts on there tickets and sometimes they are bigger discounts then if you by them from discount retailers .

I agree, have you tried phoning the box office at Phantom, we did this on Christmas day one year & got tickets for the day after Boxing day. We have also turned up on the day & got tickets for ther Lion King.

If not we usually got to Leicester Square where the half price ticket place is & see what they have available:thumbsup2

As others have said the place at Leicester Square will generally have something on offer but I would also recommend calling the box office direct for whichever one you want to see.

Wicked is great BTW - really good fun :thumbsup2

Great thanks for all your advice, I know there is the "official" tckts booth but them dont sell tickets for the Lion king, Phantom or Wicked. I know there is are a few other around I just get worried about being ripped off!!

Will phone the box office tomorrow and see what they have! If not were going for a nice meal instead :goodvibes

you wont get cheap tickets by phoning the box office or walking in to any of those shows but you will almost certainly get something from any of them by going directly to the box office. Some theatres release some seats on the day (phantom certainly used to amd Im pretty sure that wicked do) but you will need to be in line early to take advantage of these.

Also, if you get your heart set on a show, then wait there....speak to the box office staff, there are bound to be returns.... :)

Ive always managed to get seats for anything ive wanted to see, on any given night!
I went to the wicked premiere and managed to get two extra seats on the night... when it was sold out :)
